Here is a full install of our new SeaWater Pro Watermaker, this video is very detailed because there were so many different components to it and we thought other people would find this useful if they decide to do it there selves.

Thanks for the video, I love how the Seawater Pro system has no circuit boards, that simplicity is key to reliability IMO. Looking forward to installing mine soon.

Thank you so much for posting this video. I’m in the middle of an install and was a bit lost trying to figure out a few things, like the electrical connections. Thanks for spelling it out really straight forward so us less experienced but willing-to-try DIYers could be successful. Maybe we will see you out there someday. SV Happy, Island Packet 420.

No problem glad it helped that was our goal with the video, it's a big install so wanted to show all the details as the instructions aren't great but was familiar enough with watermakers I was able to get it figured out. Always good see others DIYers going for it and doing their own work so have any questions free to ask and if you see us around we're always down to meet the neighbors lol

Fantastic install ! Thanks for the details and explanation of how it works. Hope it's still meeting all your expectations and the plastic fittings are still doing their thing.

Thanks, yeah tried to balance details with not boring everyone haha yeah water maker has been amazing with 5 on board. One thing I'll add is the plastic fittings on the freshwater backwash line leaked so switched it for a barbed stainless fitting also recommend adding a valve as you have to shut down/depressurize all freshwater to change fitting which is annoying

Sir- you did a great job on this install. I’m currently installing my new water maker and have taken away some great ideas. Thank you!

Thanks for the very detailed and enjoyable video. I have watched all of the Seawater Pro produced videos as well as a few other installation videos, but your video filled in a lot of gaps and gave me some ideas for my own installation. I was a little concerned about doing it myself, despite being pretty handy, but you have raised my confidence level.

Glad to hear, yeah i felt the same way actually. I worked in a boatyard and had been around a few of them so was pretty familiar how they worked in other brands but still had a few questions that i ended up "figuring out" and felt i should do a detailed install even though it would make a long maybe more boring video for some. At the end of the day we do these videos to share our real experiences not be popular so enjoy hearing feedback like this, thanks and good luck it's worth it when it's all installed haha

@@sailinguntilvalhalla When connecting high pressure hose, did you use teflon tape?
@sailinguntilvalhalla
@sailinguntilvalhalla 6 месяцев назад
I don't use Teflon on high pressure taper fittings as the interference fit should be the seal

Great install. I’m working on power and inflow/outflow plumbing. Haul out in two weeks for the inflow thru hole. Won’t be able to test until we leave houston water is way too nasty.

Thanks just happy it's done lol, yeah there is alot of plumbing for sure took a lot longer than planned. Sounds like your at least close, looks nice from the picture i saw and yeah we haven't ran ours much at the marina because of water quality but planning a winter run soon to go out and really make water but hope the rest of the install goes smooth

Really good video.. TUVM! I heard you say you don't really care for the plastic push in fittings, which I can totally understand. Is there an easy way to swap them out for an easier to connect, more secure & water tight solution? Also, how often do you need to pickle the system membranes and do you have a way to feed the "pickling juice" into the system for that? Thanks again.
@sailinguntilvalhalla

Yeah I already ended up swapping some of the the fittings for brass ones as the freshwater flush line stated leaking pretty bad. So you have to replace the hose with potable water hose, then just take the plastic fitting to hardware shop and match the threads with a brass/stainless barbed fitting and hose clamp it way better in my opinion. I haven't had to pickle ours yet as we are always using it but if in not going to run it for a week (like in a marina) I just manually run the fresh water flush through the keep membranes wet and no issues but for pickling you could pop off intake or add a t-valve to give you and option to fill a bucket with water/picking solution

We are now installing our Seawater Pro. What was the strainer that you used?

How long do you rinse the system? ...and do you turn on HP pump when rinsing?
@Dadlife_Alaska
@Dadlife_Alaska Год назад
Sorry for late response, I usually rinse the system for 15m after ever use, no HP pump its "T"'d into the freshwater system so uses freshwater pump pressure to flush system, pretty cool setup we like it alot no complaints
