Great kit, and I really like the job made on it - me, I'm going to get this, but use the interior to make a knocked out and blown out version (barring a more complicated display a la exploding chart ofc to show the interior). A note on weathering: one should remember that paint used during ww2 was lead based and applied in thick layers; therefore, the amount of scratches should be kept to a minimum, especially considering most tanks didn't survive past six months or so before being destroyed, broke down or just abandoned. That said, the rubber wheels should always be scratched, ripped and jagged - I usually add damage to them during clean up since I'm already holding the scalpel. Fun fact though: many model wheels have a seam running along them which one could be very tempted to remove; however, since the rubber wheels were molded, an actual seam was often visible (worn down quite quickly though).

I don't know why Miniart wants the DP-28 magazines painted black though they should be gunmetal like the gun itself.

Basically this is the Russian version of the German Panzer II light scout tank.

I really enjoy the way you present your work through the build and commentary aspects. The step-by-step guide is informative and you don't shy away from letting us viewers know when things do not quite go as planned. Be waiting for ep. 2 notification to check out what you produce next.

For those that don't know the small shaft coming from the engine to the hull is the shaft for the external crank starter to start the tank engine externally.

Beautiful your model. I am an intermediate model maker. My questions are: are photoetches difficult to build since I have built a few? The model is difficult to build I also speak of the tracks? Is the plastic sturdy? Thank you
@ModellingWeekly
@ModellingWeekly 2 года назад
Thank you ☺️ in answer to your questions, I'd say photoetch is fiddly but with patience it can be manageable + deffo worth it! In terms of the tracks on this kit, they were pretty weak, but with some careful handling it was fine!

I'm thinking of getting the Romanian SPG based on the T-60, so this is v useful!

Wouldn't surprise me haha, they'd use a lot of standardised components during the war in order to save on materials and costs

Nice build, lovely kit, miniart model kits are known for its crisp and high quality details but at the same time expensive, I can't wait for part 2, this is a must have kit for me
@ModellingWeekly
