This is literally my wife and I. I am a fat white man and she is a beautiful dark skinned Nigerian woman. This show is spot on with their culture too. They're really talking yoruba, the way they represent how the Nigerian people are, all accurate. This my wife and I's favorite show currently. A big oshey for making this show
@@ikeojibi1080 So it’s unnecessary to add ethnicity but if na una Igbos, una go fill everywhere with “Igbo Kwenu and Igbo Amaka”, I don’t like hypocrites. Why is this unnecessary?
I 100% agree with you brother..I can tell the difference bw Nigerians and Ghanians by their names.I mean most often..Im a Liberian by the way.My unborn children must have a true African name
Eric Neuville Not always, I’m Nigerian but have a Turkish origin last name ( I know why too) and no I’m not mixed but full Nigerian. I know people with Danish Last names, Portuguese , Spanish , English, Dutch and even Japanese sounding (They’re not Japanese of course ) last names Our stories as Nigerians goes a long way . I love the Potpourri of cultures and identity that make up the country 🇳🇬🤓
@@KBZee-nf3ff I don't think you got his point. He means if a name is indigenous to either Nigeria or Ghana, then he can tell the difference. Your point would have been stronger if you made reference to Nigerian names from the minority tribes. I am from the southern part of Kaduna (and no, I am not Hausa!) but I am almost certain that my Nigerian name and surname will be names you've never heard before.
@anger & rage why would people make fun of Nigerian Americans? There are plenty all over the US so I'm sure it would acc be quite appealing to them alongside others
@anger & rage so I never said that. What I am saying tho is that it will be nice to watch a series that outlines what it's like to be Nigerian in America. Seeing as that is a perspective we don't really see on TV
Would some Nigerians who says they are shamed of being Nigerians feel the same after watching this! Folake has made a made for herself as a proud Nigerian. Be proud of who you are!
I know right. It's a shame they couldn't have given her character a more attractive partner. The whole fat white man getting the hot girl is tired and played out now.
Really love the show. Makes me laugh so much as so many times it's mirroring me and my partner. My partner is Ghanaian and so there are differences, but oh my god, the similarities between Bob and Abishola and me and mine ... So yes. Great show. Great on-screen chemistry. VERY funny.
I absolutely ❤ this show. The way every family tv series goes, its drama, its fighting, its jealousy. This series shows us another way to live. Congrats you guys on a fabulous program.
Nigerian food is the Bomb! I love the culture and music. And to the women, yes lots of Nigerian men are arrogant it's part of their charm and they are hard workers for sure.
Tam tried to pronounce the name and I give her that but when Jeannie said she pronounced the name like a boss???? I was like, girl NO! I cringed so hard God bless Nigeria
I LOVE this show, I love the comedy and I LOVE Folake Olowofoyeku and Billy Gardell. She is so beautiful and they make a very cute couple. Great show CBS!
Y'all saying she butchered her name are ridiculous. Evidently y'all know how to correctly pronounce it. I'm sure she didn't decide to be on stage, look in the camera and say it wrong. She tried, damn.
Feel like y’all need to have cards in your hands with the questions instead of doing this looking at the camera while talking to someone next to you thing, and guest host home girl not being able to read the question 😳🤦♀️
I have to say I LOVE Folake Olowofoyeku. I liked Billy Gardell on Mike and Molly. I loved the cast on Mike and Molly. I did not think the writer for Molly did a good job. I have sat down and bought each season due to liking Abishola so much. (I am white). To any Nigerians out there on this board, the clothing OH MY GOSH HOW BEAUTIFUL AND STUNNING!!!! I love the Indians in India’s clothing and their beauty but the Nigerians sure aren’t shorted on the talent and BEAUTIFUL clothing WOW! The episode of the wedding OH HOW BEAUTIFUL!!! I get SO TIRED of people focusing on race being a negative, WHY is it a negative when each of us should be the best representative of our race, our people, our family and cultures. There is a smorgasboard of beauty, education, lovely sharing of each other’s lives and experiences. People CAN BE and SOME ARE BEAUTIFUL and are a PURE PLEASURE to talk to and get to know.
I love, love, LOVE the premise of this show! I love it that they are inter-racial. I love it that they met while he was a patient and she is the nurse!
Appreciate Mr Gardell explaining that the inflections put on a word can change the meaning. Several times "Bob" was corrected for supposedly mispronouncing a word (I thought he'd said it properly) and wondered had I heard him wrong. Nice to know a word can have four different meanings depending on HOW you say the word.
