The Monty Python alum talks about his career in comedy, history and directing, and explains his latest project: using funny videos to get men to take their health more seriously. For more George visit: www.strombo.com
He began losing the ability earlier than that. He started struggling as early as January 2009 imo. You can see him stuttering a lot here, with so many ummmmm's before he talks, but yes, it did speed up quite a bit between late 2013 and 2015. By 2016, he could no longer speak in public and shortly there after, he lost all ability to speak and communicate in any way.
Next to Michael Palin....my favourite Python......what am I saying....they were all my favourites.....Other Pythoners said that Terry Jones made the best "woman".....and when I think of the science fiction sketch, the Mr.Hilter sketch, and the Spam sketch....I think they were right.....I love his history documentaries too......
Dude you've mistaken the video, this is an interview with Terry Jones the comedian, writer, actor from the legendary Monty Python, not some religious fanatic.
I’ve always had the impression that Terry Jones and Michael Palin were (and are, in Palin’s case) two very genuine, kind, and decent human beings. As well as being enormously talented of course. Those qualities don’t always correlate. If I’m wrong about that I don’t want to know.
The influence Python had on comedy was not structural or stylistic. The greatest gift that Python gave to comedy and the world in general was the joy that comes from being silly. Silly is the essence of Python. People talk about the lofty philosophical subjects that formed part of Python sketches and films, and that's fine. But it was there to serve as a greater contrast for silly. Bathos.
There is only a five years age difference between them, but Sir Colin never wore dresses, and always behaved like a mans man! He once played an entire match with a broken arm you know? That said, I couldn't imagine Terry getting Bieber tickets for his granddaughter, or Colin writing interesting insightful and funny books about history. The one thing they really have in common is that they are both by most accounts rare and wonderful people.
He looked good in this interview. It's amazing what a difference four years makes, and how ironic that he said he was determined not to get ill for the sake of his baby daughter, and yet now he probably will be gone in the next year or two. When they gave him the BAFTA award last month the disease had progressed so much that he was unable to even to say a "Thank you" to the audience. Michael Palin gave an interview a couple weeks ago saying that the deterioration process is painful to watch because they've been best friends since 1964. But he said sometimes Terry still recognizes him even though he can't talk.
TheTubePortal it absolutely breaks my heart. He had such an energy for life, and now he can't communicate. Just think, the only memories his daughter will have of him is with dementia.
I like to send a message to U.S. pastor Terry Jones that he would be a reason for many to embrace Islam, what would happen to him in this world before the Hereafter, and will be the biggest lesson to those seen in human history. People to know that ALLAH is right
