Sheikh Ahmed Deedat was the master of comparative religion debates. He knew the bible better than any Christian scholar ever lived. He knew how to present and share knowledge. He was the first Muslim scholar of the bible who had the guts to debate and spread knowledge without fear. He never lost any debate with any Christian scholar. He was a gift from Allah to weak Muslims and non-Muslims who were and are looking for the truth. May Allah open all doors of Jannah for him. Ameen.

In case anyone reads the Bible with an open mind, it is easy to see that the Bible has nothing to do with God. Sheikh Deedat had no need to refer to, as you put it, the Westcot and Hort Text (The New Testament in the Original Greek is a Greek-language version of the New Testament published in 1881). I, myself, have been researching the Bible for over 27 years. I can tell you that even the gospels of Matthew and others were written by various people, but somehow someone collected various writings and put them together, and it became a gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. How do I know that for a fact? If you read Matthew, for example, the book contradicts itself in many aspects.

The gospel of Luke is recognised by John and by Paul. See John talks about Mary being the woman who wiped Jesus feet with her hair, and thats what we see a woman doing in Luke. So he talks about Luke as fact. Also, Paul recognises Luke as the Bible and as the gospel. In 1 Timmothy he quotes it as scripture, and in Romans e says "according to my gospel" and in 1 Corrintinas, he quotes Jesus saying the same phrase ans in Luke "do this in remembeence of me". And we know Paul was together with the Apostles, see 2nd Peter at the end. And finally, Luke says hat plural people have undertaken to write the narrative he says in the introduction of the gospel he going to write.

What I feel is that this man in his 70, standing for around 2 hours with full arguments, showing full of energy with no pressure, offering his thoughts by quoting the bible with exact chapters and verses without seeing to the text by the way, discussing his views and he is academically defending, protecting the beloved JESUS from any people who are intended to mix, add or perhaps manipulate HIS pure teachings in the Bible with their interests.

I don't believe in a god so, if i read the Quran, I would take from it the good and filter out the bad. I don't need a god to tell me what is good and what is bad. And neither do you. The problem is that you have accepted the Quran as an ultimate word of a god so feel compelled to justify and apologize the bad stuff in the Quran. And there is bad stuff. Deedat bases his arguments on scripture, quotations and direct knowledge whereas swaggart is the same as most priests and pastors everything is emotional and speech without any substance. Salman Rafiq I just answered this for someone else. Starting with the question "Who created the universe?" is already accepting that a god of some kind did it. Try asking " 'What' caused the universe?" That way you are not precluding a 'who' when trying to discover how the universe actually came to be. Try looking for evidence that leads to a factual conclusion rather than looking for justification for your belief in a god. Your statement also shows your only defense is that you can't think of another way the universe could have come about so 'it must have been god'. By the way, have you defined your god? You can't use it to explain mysteries if your god is a mystery, too. While I grant a number of scientific notions mentioned in the Quran, I also note a number of them were known decades or even centuries before the Quran was written down. As well, some of them are wrong. When it talks about the sun going to 'it's resting place', that does not describe an orbiting sun. Your book isn't perfect. And neither was your prophet. And just because he said an angel came to him in a cave doesn't mean it actually happened. Remember, he was alone. He could make up anything. Don't just accept everything your religious leaders tell you because it fits with the 'feel good' religion you have been taught. They have an agenda. Until you have evidence that a 'who' exists, you can't use it to explain anything. And, before you can acquire evidence, you need to define your god. imran hassan Yes, but someone's ability to debate is just that. They can debate. It doesn't prove anything about the subject of the debate. And it means nothing about what it true, right, or real. Whether the bible or the Quran is the word of a god (or any god) can't be resolved in a debate. It can only be determined by proof. And your book is just the latest ancient book asserting knowledge of a god's existence. What you believe is one thing. What you do because of those beliefs, or, more accurately, what you do in the name of your god, is more important. What I see in religion, all religion, is people using their god and prophets and unholy books as justification for discrimination, murder, abuse of women, war, control, terrorism. And, while Islam is more in the news right now, Christianity has its own fair share of history with murderous, sexist, and racist behaviours. So, just because your Deedat was a better debater than a misfit like Swaggart , you still have a long way to go to prove a god - any god - and to prove that belief in that god, and all of the made up baggage that goes along with it, makes for a better society. I have proof that it doesn't. What do you have? (By the way, Deedat refused to debate atheists; he just wanted to preach to Christians. There is too much to say so I won't bother but go and watch the video "Proof the Quran is from God" and u will see all has come true and is coming true. And another proof. What do u think connects you to emotions and thoughts. The feelings of guilt regret love happiness sadness etc. This world is all materialistic so why can u think and feel? Von Chacal I assume, by what you write, that you are Muslims. You do realize that your beloved Quran is based on the god of Abraham, that is, the books of Moses from the bible. Those would be some of the most violent and immoral books, too. Just because you think the Christian books are messed up, doesn't give any value to yours. Your beliefs are deluded, unfounded, faith based, and contain many immoral teachings, too (Sharia law?). Religion poisons the mind and allows the gullible (normally good people) to be transformed into immoral killing machines because of a belief in an imaginary deity. I don't care what you think you read in your book, there is enough bad stuff in there to turn good people into bad people. The bad people in your religion aren't just a few in number. There are 100's of millions of Muslims following the bad, violent parts in their books. You can make fun of Christians all you want, and defend your faith all you want, but religion is not good for societies and is not good for this world.

Mr.Jimmy Swaggart is an excellent speaker but the evidences he has presented are not quite justifying while Mr. Ahmed Deedat is not so well a speaker comparitively but he has justified his lecture by giving solid evidences and the audience is the best judge if they have listened to this debate without prejudice.

Jimmy got caught, but most of the Imams, Kings, priests, pandits, other mankind who commit these sins - hide it from the public. Jimmy publically repented of his sins and he accept Jesus Christ paid the death penality for all sins. So GOD FORGIVE HIM. Just make sure GOD FORGAVE ALL YOUR SIN, by repenting to God, and accept that Jesus Christ (Son of God) paid the consequence for your sins - by his sacrifice on the cross. Jimmy did repented publically in disgrace. Have you ever repented publically? Maybe he commited other sins, which you and I are not aware of; but he cannot HIDE IT FROM GOD. I myself have commited much sins, and repented much. I desire not to sin but still make mistake. God has given us the gift of life. Jesus pay the penality of death for our sins, so repentance AND accepting this gift, is how we get forgiveness. God is Justice, which is death for sins (mean SPIRITUAL separation from God) and Jesus paid the wages of sins by his crucification THROUGH GOD LOVE for us. LOVE is the key.

Jimmy was no match for Deedat, the brother destroyed him beautifully, what was amazing about the debate, that Deedat was speaking on top of his head with complete confidence without any notes or prepared remarks, his knowledge with the christian religion was very profound, and yes Dr. Naik he is another one that don't needs any written prepared remarks, but he comes right off from his head as well.

Jesus did not die for our sins honey. I cant put you in jail because someone else committed a crime. Sorry but that party is gonna stop sooner or later.
