The video compilation of first part of the CR line stretch between Mumbai CST and Panvel Junction ROCKET Express, before the glorious diesels says forever good-bye and gets replaced permanently by the electric locomotives and I finally managed to experience the same. I had to book my tickets online and my actual coach was S-6, still I managed to enjoy the terrific chugging sounds of an ALCo. I was more than a happy to sit in a fourth coach of the engine/diesel locomotive till Mangaluru Junction itself 😍🙏
On board 17 coach long Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus MUMBAI CST - MANGALURU Junction SUPERFAST Express (via Thane, Panvel Jn, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Karmali, Madgaon Jn, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi and Surathkal) Special powered by its customary link, the single headed ALCo based diesel locomotive from Diesel Loco Shed KALYAN, CR's "KYN WDM 3D 11365" in a Cab End SHF Mode with amazing twin toned Old School ALCo type horn sets.
I somehow managed to record almost 05.00 Hrs out of 16.30 Hrs full journey covering a total distance of 893 Kms with 13 Halts, starting from Mumbai CST, Thane, Panvel Jn, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Karmali, Madgaon Jn, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Surathkal and Mangaluru Junction. Small Stations of Mumbai Suburban in between and some of the triple parallel action with the local trains are captioned in the video itself (both in English as well as Marathi languages). The 1.3Kms long "Parsik Tunnel" can also be seen.
