Into your fall time. Here in Rochester NY just starting spring. I cut last week now it’s pouring rain 🌧️. I have some work to do on my lawn. My son bought a house last year so I’ll get his lawn going starting Sunday.
Ben, Brenton would say otherwise about your “don’t go lower than 15mm with buffalo” advice. Hahaha. Seen the bloke go to ground but of course leaving bare runners and it comes back a beauty!
G'day, It's always good seeing how you do the renovation work to your green. But you forgot to cover sand. Q. I have a Kikuyu lawn. What do I ask for in sand when I go along to purchase it. So thanks for sharing man ✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham. 3810.
This was a mix of coarse and fine sand. Something like an 80-20 or 90-10 also works. If you can find something that is washed, isn’t too coarse or fine or is USGA sand you’ll be set!
This is not a “core aeration” and doesn’t really do much compaction relief nor thatch relief. I guess your thatch maintenance was done only with your verticut. We call this “venting” your roots and easily allowing gas/oxygen exchange in the SE States and could be done quite often for the health of your root system.
