Some 0000 steel wool with a little elbow grease will make your pipes look brand new. Add some Pigspit to the motor it will make the black finish of the motor pop. This is a very cool video!
Great video man, just bought my first bike, been polishing her up a little at a time clearing up some oxidation of the chrome. Getting ready for my first wash this week. Definitely going to follow your lead. What soap and decontamination did you use if you don’t mind sharing?
Thanks for the comment! This isn't my personal bike. I run a detailing shop and this was a clients bike. I am not sure what brand of saddle bags they were. When I see this bike this summer/fall, I'll be sure to ask.
I just (yesterday) spent 6 hrs detailing my 02 VTX 1800. UGG>...those polished aluminum wheels took a lot of time on my back to get cleaned up. That and our Sportster 1200C has those cast aluminum wheels with the spokes that aren't polished. We actually won that bike at a really in the spring but its been neglected for details/cleaning....Any tips for windshields and bugs? I tried a bug and tar remover spray in an inconspicuous spot, but Id swear it was starting to break down the lexan windshield (or whatever they use), and rinsed it off quickly to get it off there. What products do you use for the Wheels to clean the aluminium wheels, and the windshield?
