My only problem with this rumble is that people get eliminated way too fast. When the last entrant Batista entered the match, the only guys left were edge, cena, and Shawn.
The air being sucked out of the building when HBK was eliminated was a great moment. I know people will always have their picks for the best of all time, but for me, it's Shawn Michaels. Knowing what he went through with almost having his career ended because of back problems, and then coming back and having such a lengthy and impactful run after that is incredible. You can see how stiff he was at this point and I cringe for him when he takes those hard back bumps, but what an amazing showman he was. There will truly never be another Shawn Michaels.

@@kevinshirley9344 I was born in 2002 (ik I’m a feetus) but even I don’t consider 2010 old school. It’s definitely older for sure, but not old school to me. To me old school is 90’s and even very early 2000’s.
His match at Wrestlemania where he won the international championship was amazing he really had potential but noone realizes that Wwe doesn’t push the potential from 80% of the roster. That’s why we keep seeing the same people on top which gets boring after a while.

Nostalgia hits different. We used to watch this regularly, and when we came to school, at the break we used to play royal rumble. We would put tables in rectangular shape , and the one who gets thrown over the tables is out. My favorites were Shawn Michaels and MVP. So I picked them as my characters. I also had a tag team partner friend, who liked Triple H , so we were DX. He also liked John Cena. One friend was Koffee Kingston, and one was Mark Henry. I remember one being Kane too. We all acted like them, it was fun as hell, all the girls were watching us and cheering for their favorites. 😂 When our teacher came in after 30 minutes break, we would all be sweaty hahaha. 😂 What a great memory! I miss those days...

@@sodik8266 the wrestling community always finds away. People will complain because people have different tastes, styles and wrestlers they like. It's impossible in today's wrestling to appease the whole wrestling crowd.
Shawn's display of emotional breakdown shows what it meant to him and what made the build up of undertaker vs Michaels so great and frankly,that match delivered.
One thing I noticed watching him is that, every bump he takes seems to magically be a gut shot. By that I mean, no matter what he is hit with, he sells it by laying on the ground holding his gut.
@@kehnemdafriend Mysterio in his prime was a beast, still is, but he doesn't go as crazy as he did back then! I grew up watching the Hardy Boyz, Team 3-D, Eddie & Mysterio. I remember when Rey pinned Randy to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
@@KermitOfWar pretty sure Rey didn't work as a heel. While Orton's versatlity would easily put him on the Mt Rushmore of wrestling. Still crowd favorite till now. That's the elite i'm referring to. Love Rey but he's stack in the tag team division and something really not working there.
He is so annoying on commentary. How he has lasted in that job I don’t know!!! Vince is usually ruthless with hiring and firing, but I can’t understand why he keeps Michael Cole in that role. he screams all the time “vintage” then wrestlers name and his favourite line is “are you kidding me?”

That was the time when you would get to see Cena, Batista, HBK, Edge and Jericho in the same ring. Ruthless aggression, What a time it was to be a wrestling fan after attitude and PG era.
That elimination of Shawn Michaels was the most heart breaking one. That build up towards The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels at WM 26 was on a different level. Everything looked so original.

Imagine telling someone in January 2010, Hey that kid Cody Rhodes, yeah he is gonna leave, become the biggest star on the independent circuit, start his own company, and rival WWE with a TV deal on TNT by the end of this decade. Crazy.
The WWE is always full of amazing talent but manages to make a mess of everyone's careers. AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Drew Mackintyre, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, Somoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Corbyn the list goes on and on. Amazing in ring performers stifled by stupid storylines and everyone, yes everyone has to lose to Brock "I only have 3 moves" Lesner. The whole thing lost its appeal to me when they let Lesner take Undertakers unbeaten streak at mania. Guy is nearing the end of his career, he has given so much, why did they take that away from him, he deserved to keep that record.
yeah watching the 2019 rumble again, that match felt so dead. I know the talent is there, but the star power doesn't even come close to the 2010 rumble.

I'm watched WWE (and WCW) from 2000-2015, but it is always fun to rewatch the older and newer Royal Rumbles here... I must say: Ziggler is really nice, he can made always a great show - sadly he was out early at this RR
These days had a lot of awesome moments even if Cena got suuuper old predictably winning so goddamn much like Roman reigns did haha, so predictable. He's great in movies but edge & batista are way better
I love how there were 3 distinct acts of this rumble, like a play. First it was CM punk dominating in the opening act that ended when triple h came out. Then it was the middle act that was more slow paced but still exciting with mid carders. And the final act with all the major players starting with the DX/Cena face off
What makes this Rumble different at that time and all the great Rumbles which come after this like 16, 18, 20 is: The last thing on the mind of the entrant is how to kill time. There is a clear cut, definitive purpose either you're a jobber or a key player.
Funny how Cm Punk & Triple H didn’t stay long to see Jericho , Edge & Batista. Punk didn’t see HBK. Basically how some main Eventers get eliminated early
After rewatching this it may be my favourite rumble so many great moments: -Punk eliminating people and cutting promos -Beth entering -HBK eliminating HHH out of desperation -Edge return -Jericho’s reaction to Edge -HBK’s elimination and his reaction afterwards -Edge winning
its fun to listen to when he returned in 2020 and 2010 he said the rated R super star so casually in 2010 and in 2020 he said THE RATED R SUPERSTAR and ik why he got so existed but its just fun to see the comparison
*Phoebe Ly* I felt my heart stop for that moment. I could see his hopes and dreams shattering like glass. Since then, he was losing himself and did whatever it took to get the attention of *The Undertaker* for WM26.
The way they teased the HBk elimination throughout the match was amazing storytelling. The dream of the streak ending and then him coming at the chamber to cost Taker was also perfect writing.
