Congratulations Calderano! He didnt just 'win' FZD, but dominated him in pretty much every aspect of the game. Serves, receives, flicks, Spins fh and bh, counters and defense...a amazing match and textbook example of how to beat fzd. Ovtcharov does something quite similar, this is a aggresive bh nearl to the table, attacking either the middle or the backhand and also countering fzd's bh openings back brutal force. Not just is it unexpected as most other players dont do it, it just physically very hard to play into it for fzd, since both Ovtcharov and Calderano weight much more and bring more physical power to the table! If fzd cant win on power and his dominant fh (which he uses his backhand oppeners for), what is he left with? Playing angles? Yes, that works quite well against Ovtcharov, since he's not the most agile player. But Calderano moves like on clouds and can attack from like every positing fh and bh.

great match, ubber performance by hugo, he kept fzd off balance so fzd didnt get momentum from his offense. hugo countered forehand & backhand consistantly. that worked ,his touch, change of speed worked ,he outplayed fzd on every point & thats why he won.what a thrill,hugo is capable of bigger wins in the future
