I like Liang showed his respect and bowed to the GOAT.

I always root for Ma Long to win because he is towards the end of his career, and still delivers at this age. But when I saw him winning the 7-0 match and then proceed to lead 3 games to 2 , I was satisfied. I didn't care what the result of the match is going to be, I knew it that we are witnessing the greatest ever human being to touch a table tennis racket ever. No one was like him, no one is and absolutely no one will be. A genius, an absolute monster, the greatest of all time.

It is time to praise Liang Jingkun and enjoy his games. He is now in his Prime age and at peak conditions.

After losing first two games, Ma Long switched paddle using red as forehand. Immediately he lost 7 in a row. 7 points, that's the price he paid for swapping the rubber and 7 plays to adjust the new setting. Then, he started winning and his opponent started feeling a little uncomfortable. It's just crazy he could adjust so quickly. Eventually, he still lost, not because of switching the rubber side, largely because Liang was just playing incredible table tennis and Ma Long's age. Notice both Ma Long's rubbers are Hurricane III. The difference in red and black maybe the sponge hardness and thickness. Usually, black side has harder and thicker spongy resulting spiny but slower shots, red side is opposite.

The respect Liang Jingkun has for Ma Long is admirable. Even though he managed to win this epic 7-set game, he remained silent and did not celebrate the victory over his countryman. Japanese legend says that to kill a ninja, only another ninja can be killed. In table tennis, only one Chinese opponent can beat another Chinese opponent.

LJK has finally defeated ML in international tournament, and has defeated Harimotor, LJY, Timo Boll last Tournament, only lost to WCQ. He is in perhaps his Prime time now. I hope he can win his first WTT title tomorrow!

After Ma Long defeated Lin Yun-Ju, I was expecting and hoping for a Ma Long vs Fan Zhendong final. Complete opposite happened. :(

Lian Jinkun is a real soldier. He was losing 0-2 set, to save 5 match balls against Gauzy to finally win 3-2, same vs Ma Long 2-3, exhausted he stayed in the game to win 4-3. Clearly Calderano have another lvl this year but never bet vs Lian Jinkun, u will lose your house, your wife and your dog. This guyz never give up and is one of the most stable player with Wan Chuqin.

I think Ma Long was satisfied by his performance at the end. Either that or he's become better at hiding his disappointment.

Liang Jingkun might be the second best Chinese player right now. I wonder what his chances are of being selected alongside Wang Chuqin in Olympic singles and/or in team events.

45.25 DHS rubbers have a different measuring scale for sponge hardness. 42* on DHS or Friendship etc. Chinese scale is more than 50* on the European scale.

Liang always had the backhand, it's better than Ma's, but Ma has always been able to step around and crush it with the forehand. Not so easy anymore for Ma. Liang could lose to Calederano in the final, as I don't think his defense is good enough. He will have to step up and attack Calderano first.

The camera always misses the precise moment of the serve. We're not interested in the players' armpits for 3-4 seconds; we want to enjoy the game. The entire table should already be shown before the ball toss. Not during the toss, at least a second before! Please replace the camera operator.👎👎👎👎👎

I think matches on stages like this are not good at catching the points where the ball thinly hits the endline. I suppose the person who is closest to make the judgement is the player that does not want the ball to touch the table, and the general sound volume make it not possible to hear. Its quite often that I think to myself that the ball touched the edge. Maybe camera technology should be used to make the correct judgements.

Ма в 3 сете переворачивает ракетку. Первые 7 очков сливает для подстройки, а потом.. полетело) Ахренеть, на ходу да ещё во время турнира.. это очень смелый ход! Скорость он тут конечно подравнял и надеюсь уже сделал правильные выводы. Он единственный кто не делал корректировку инвентаря после перехода на пластиковый мяч. Уверен что на следующем турнире у него будет другой инвентарь. Его DHS W968 весит в районе 200гр и для пластика это перебор. Видимо просто никому в голову не приходило давать совет по апгрейду такому авторитету.

Ma Long decided to step off as if he won he would have had to beat Calderano. Which is not obvious at the moment. So Ma just "lost" to a member of CNT in semi, it is not a catastrophe. But escaped potential lost in the final to non-chinease.
