so proud of both. after the unlucky draws and dissapointments since the olympics , im really happy that harimoto got this. he deserves it. lin shidong also needed a rest and a good competetor since he has been unbeatable lately. 24 singles matches won in 3 events and he also played the mixed doubles , guided kuai man who is still young and won a lot on doubles too. of course he was tired as well. still , it was a great match. both have nothing to be sad about❤

For those who boasted Lin Shidong to the sky saying that he'll replace Wang Chuqin as the true successor of Ma Long, I hope you look at this match and be fair with all your previous statements about Wang Chuqin. I am not here to hate on Lin Shidong. I do acknowledge that he is extremely tired after so many continuous tournaments. Even without this in mind, Lin Shidong's head to head record is actually actually inferior to Harimoto. After this match, Harimoto leads Lin Shidong in terms of h2h of 3 wins 1 losses. The one time Lin Shidong beat Harimoto was also very closely contested of 3-2. And now with his fatigue, it's clear that his chances of winning is low. But still, people who boasted Lin Shidong really doesn't really want the best for him. They don't really care if Lin Shidong makes it or not and they probably don't even like Lin Shidong that much. But Lin Shidong is just a better alternative to the player they actually dislike which is Wang Chuqin. Who dislikes Wang Chuqin? It's the Ma Long fans. They don't like Wang Chuqin for many obvious reasons. They are not happy that Wang Chuqin is the new world no.1 but not their god Ma Long. They are not happy that Wang Chuqin is the only player on the world tour who has a winning head to head record against their god Ma Long. They are not happy that Wang Chuqin got the singles slot of the Olympics and not their god Ma Long. And Most importantly, they are most triggered by people who say that Wang Chuqin may potentially be better than Ma Long. Therefore, these insecure Ma Long fans have to put Wang Chuqin down to make themselves feel better and make Ma Long look superior. Ma Long fans make excuses saying that Wang Chuqin is mentally bad compared to Ma Long. Why hasn't anyone mentioned his mental toughness that led to the countless titles he won before that to become the world no.1? Why nobody compliments Wang Chuqin's mental strength when he made an impressive comeback against Lin Yunju in the men's team final when he was trailing 0-2 in games and in the fourth game facing 3 match points at 7-10? Instead they highlight how he is worthless just because of one lost to Oh Junsung which he beaten earlier in the men's team semi-finals? Why none of these fans say anything about Ma Long's "mentality" when he was literally leading 3-1 in games and 8-4 in the final game? Using stamina or retirement conspiracy theories to justify his lost? If you are truly a Lin Shidong fan, I hope you do not use the same excuses such as "fatigue" to justify his lost since you guys refused to accept that as a legitimate reason for Wang Chuqin's lost. If you want to say Wang Chuqin is mentally weak, I hope you also acknowledge that Lin Shidong himself is not that much better considering his losing examples against many foreigners like Cho Seungmin, Qiu Dang and Harimoto. Understand that this is sports and nobody can win all the time. If you want to label every lost of Wang Chuqin is a bad player with bad mental, please don't look at this match any differently.
