pressure doesn't really matter if you're eating shots all day, though in this case he had the strike advantage. The body is a more important target than the legs generally, and to me it looked like wilnis took a hammering through his guard with those overhands even though the judges might not count partially blocked punches.
@@damonwebster6099 what does that have to do with the moment i highlighted? In that moment jason was eating multiple knees and the commentator guy just brushed them off. 😂 I don’t even remember who I thought won but in that moment jason was eating knees.
It's true but I think the commentator was trying to forecast. Marcus has his hands low and was exiting the clinch repeatedly - Wilnis is a world class counter puncher with lightning speed and thunderous power so it was definitely in the realm of possibility. I thought it was incredibly close but ultimately Wilnis's pressure and the fact that Marcus seemed to be more affected by JWs shots than the other way, that's why the announcer was leaning Wilnis because he saw him winning the fight. It was a tad excessive though since Marcus never got any love for anything. Again, I think it's partly because JW never looked affected by any of the shots SM threw at him and SM looked a bit 🥴 .
Wow, what a fight. I felt like Wilnis edged it out with his ring control and damage but Marcus definitely landed some hard shots too and tore up the body with those kicks. Super close and competitive fight though.
@@kenrow3604 He didn't steal anything from Adesanya, it was a close fight and, the way I saw it, Wilnis did more damage, especially with his low kicks.
@@kenrow3604 wilnis won both. Great footwork doesn't hurt ur opponents. Wilnis knew this against Adesanya. If he n Schevcheko have the same low volume problem.
Glory needs to make a video game already. The format would simple as fuck, yet so rewarding. EA MMA striking controls. With the triggers being used to manipulate specific kickboxing movements and combos. Dude, it could be so sick. Tournament online modes. better, modern graphics. Simple, yet intuitive and fun controls. Anyone agree?
youngbori99 the one we're wilnis was constantly putting pressure and walking him back against the ropes every round lmao. Ring control is just as important as strikes landed
The answer to Wilnis style is that, that guy is a complete pound for pound BOXER fighter. Considering his fatigue at the second half of R4, he almost KO Simon -look at his eyes on the rep- I respect Wilnis´s boxing stamina. Fair victory. What a fight!
Jason got robbed here, he clearly won. Simon was being more active but his punches where not doing damage at all. Good thing we will have a rematch soon.
Being exhausted doesn't make judges give an opponent the fight but can make the opponent knock you out but he wasn't. Marcus was still landing his kicks and knees. He clearly won the fight.
Why does the Commentator always say that wilnes's every single kick and punch is doing damage. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM SUPPOSEDLY DOES DAMAGE. While just like inhis previous fight against Israel nothing either Israel or Marcusthrew or kicked was damage according to him.
Lmao Jason & Rico's coach(18:42) translated: focus on your distance and footwork and then bam-bam-bam-bam Anouncer: i believe Rico's coach just said focus on the body
Marcus won 1,2 they both draw 3, willnis won 4,5 , but obviously the 4&5 was still close because Marcus was landing some good kicks to the body but his hand was week to land punch to willnis face, wilnis was landing some good punch to Marcus body and head, 1and2 was just a clear win for Marcus.
Wilnis FOR SURE WON THE LAST 3 ROUNDS..... Had Marcus Rocked A Wobbled At The End OF The Rounds, The Champ Did Not Lose HIs Belt ... But I Guess Based Off Of Points And Strikes Technically SIMON landed more ? But Jasons Strikes Left More Damage PERIODT! #GreatFight #Trilogy I Guess He Gets To Win At Least Once Lol .... Since Last Time He Got KO'd
Exactly you have to control the rounds and the fight and be more busy and effective and use defensive techniques and counters and not just trade punches and rest and then throw 2 punches and rest with little kicking and defense. Even if your not landing much, the judges can't see everything and think your actually landing effective punches and kicks because your super busy and fighting and not just throwing 2 punches and holding.
How about they get an actual translator instead of somebody who guesses what was said in Dutch. ''Use the legs... something about the body.... keep distance..'' What they Actually told Wilnis is to go for the legs continuously, watch your footwork, get on the inside and up the tempo.
The commentators are so biased is pitiful. I just wished they would’ve simply shut up and let us watch a good match. I’m glad they’re not the judges. The fighter, who landed more won the fight as it should be. Any unbiased person would’ve seen that. Sure, Wilnis was good, can take punches and keep coming but that doesn’t mean that he should win.
so the first belt he won because Levin walked out, now he won because of one blind judje. He got tocked good in round 4 haha. Sad if your belts come like that....not a real champion.
simon has good technic and strong muscular body, but bad stamina, 5 rounds is too hard for him, his face absorbed alot punches in last 2 round. lucky him didn't get a ko.
Looks like he did more strength training to harden his body then actual cardio and sparring and focus pad training and road work. You should do your major strength training after fights and in training camp focus on your kickboxing techniques and cardio training timing speed power, you should already be ready with your strength and abdominal training, then your just doing strength training to stay ready and strong in training camp. After a fight take a month off then back to light sparring and focus on strength and abdominal training, so your ready for training camp.
