Hey I remember you from college! Crazy to see your on a comment on a diving video of all places😄But in all honesty can't blame you, it's one of the most addicting Olympic sports to watch imo...both for the actual diving and for the eye candy
I don't think people really appreciate how's that moment is so stressful for the gentlemen where they have to control their brain then performed brilliantly regardless of the enormous pressure placed upon them to perform correctly and beautiful art
@@maggiechan33 ik but i meant in the synchro men diving 10m. ( I apologise for my bad English, I am currently learning it in school since a few months)
Round five synchronization for British divers were pretty bad, it was simply not there at all from the beginning yet they received 8 cross the board, guess the judges were either all blind or muffled by some preoccupied impressions about Tom. That synchro should be given 6 the most, each diver was like doing their own solo.
They have cameras that capture everything in slow motion. The initial judging is basically just to get an approximate score. Not to mention the judges are experts, so they know what to look for.
@@Lena-zn4re Yes, the judges are experts and there are 8 judges in Olympic competition. But they don’t use replay. It’s strictly on what they see in real time.
The judges are coaches or former athletes and know every position/style very well and able to score in seconds. For general audiences, it is much better to watch on TV as images are captured from the best angle with slow motion replay.
the easiest way to score is by taking away points for flaws starting from 10 or 9.5 half points for each flaw. they split the judges in two groups to look at each diver for synchronization and execution. the female commentator pointed out all the flaws for each pair. as she rightly pointed out the Chinese pair's imperfect entry in round #4, their feet or lower extremities kicked up some splashes because their bodies are not perfectly vertical. that was the only round team China didn't live up to expectation. they were partner only after China Olympic trial.
Okay, not only are the commentators heavily biased towards Britain and maybe even the US, but the judges seem to be as well. The Chinese on one round did a dive with perfect synchronization, didn't enter quite vertically and got around 8's and 7.5's along with 7's for some execution. Then Goodfellow and Daley come around, synchronization not really that good and Goodfellow's entrance... yet he got a 7.0 on execution (Tom got a 9 on execution which I agree with) but then they were given 8.5's on synchronization. Am I missing something here? Timestamp: 43:35
I think the judges are hesitant to give poorly executed dives perfect synchro scores, even though they should. On the Chinese dive, I thought they both should’ve gotten lower execution scores but a nearly perfect synchro score.
I think I can correctly Identify Poland and some of the South American Countries. I know where Costa Rica is. I know there has to be Sport. Education is important too.
think its cause its less fabric and skin tight so doesnt cause any drag in air and mainly on entry. im not an expert but not sure why they cant wear skin tight shorts, maybe more difficult to move and bend?
