I like how Smooth Scar fights unlike his future appearances, where he aggressively swings his arm here he just casually tapped Ed and Al. As though he predicted how they would fight.
The moment when they enter the alley is way funnier in the manga, basically alphonse uses his powers to block him and edward makes this "good job" face and he destroys and walks through that wall

Scar was an older, more experienced fighter. He also served in the Ishvalan war as a front line soldier and likely knew how to keep a cool head during chaos. Had Ed actually kept his head and strategized instead of underestimating Scar and jumping right at him then he and Alfonse would have done better in this initial encounter
@@dogking44 But why were they panicking and running away if they were experienced fighters? I get they were caught off guard but I don't know. It seems a bit out of character for Edward to freeze up like that
