Estudié joyería hace 16 años, y fue literalmente imposible encontrar información precisa para la técnica de mokume gané, hoy 16 años después estoy sorprendida de ésta arcilla y la forma tan fácil para hacerla. Gracias por el tutorial 🙂

Áll of this looks beautiful. Id love to make it. But what is the ratio of copper to clay please?
@metalclay-silberladen-at
@metalclay-silberladen-at 2 месяца назад
The ratio between silver and copper can vary somewhat. Approximately 1/3 to 2/3 silver may be used, it's not so precise.

Can we use a torch in place of a kiln ? Thanks
@metalclay-silberladen-at
@metalclay-silberladen-at 7 месяцев назад
No, unfortunately not, as the jewelry needs to be fired in activated carbon under oxygen deprivation. Greetings 😊

Das müsste doch auch mit Silber und Bronze funktionieren. Tolle Schmuckstücke und sehr schönes Video.

Love your video, do you do something with the powder from sanding? Can you reuse it? Thanks
@metalclay-silberladen-at
@metalclay-silberladen-at 5 месяцев назад
Thank you for your feedback! Yes you can. Just add a little bit of distilled water and knit it until you have a modelling mass. Just fire it the same way as shown in the video for the mokume gane technique. Greetings 😊

Hi, first thank you for your tutorial. I have 2 questions regarding the fire temperature: first fire is 550degrees. Is ramped or full fire and after holding the temperature for 30 minutes? The same when you use activated cabon: you ramped till you reached 760 degrees or full fire? Thank you
@metalclay-silberladen-at
@metalclay-silberladen-at 5 месяцев назад
Thank you for your feedback! 🥰We do not fire ramped. We maintain the specified temperature for the specified time. Best regards.

Hello! Thank you for the video! I was trying to do something similar but after the cook 3.5 hours at 760 degrees the result was melting😢. Any ideas of what is going wrong? The pieces were more thin than the example, maybe it need less temperature o less time? I apreciate your feedback.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We suspect that the oven may have exceeded the desired temperature during heating. Please monitor it next time. Especially when the piece of jewelry is very thin, such temperature spikes can be enough to melt it. 760°C is the maximum temperature that should not be exceeded. Perhaps try 750°C next time. It can also vary depending on the copper or silver content and whether the piece is well covered with activated charcoal. We hope we could assist you further. Greetings ☺

@@metalclay-silberladen-at Hello, I was doing tests, it looks like my kiln is damaged because the long time working, so the temperature was higher than 760°. In any case I will abandon my project because they were rings and in these case affects the galvanic corrosion...

Hi! What kind of oven is that used to dry your pieces?
@MoMoZen-nk4is

to clarify... the black oven at the 6:07 marker of video. Thanks! :)
@metalclay-silberladen-at

Hello, it's a regular dehydrator for drying fruits and vegetables. You don't need a special oven for drying to create metal clay jewelry. An ordinary oven will suffice. You can even let the jewelry air dry, but we recommend waiting at least 24 hours, depending on room temperature and humidity. Best regards, Margit & Luca 😃
