Earl is one of the best players of all time but Earl was very disrespectful to his opponents and talking to the crowd too much. USA lost 11-2 because of Earl making it miserable for them. If Earl wasn't in the team I think it could have been closer. Earl was responsible of one of those two matches won.
i love Earl but this time they make big misatake to get him into it...his behavior destroy mentaly other players from USA...bay the way THE PEARL made also mistakes EUROPE EUROPE :)
I just think the americans don't take this event as seriously as the Europeans anymore. The players are all capable of beating any other players there, and have. So it's not that they're not as good, I just think they don't put as much effort into it.
That is exactly how I feel. SVB is capable of beating all those players 10 times over if he wanted to, but it just seems though that he can never get his game in when it comes to the mosconi cup. Some goes for any of the other players. The U.S really just needs that day 1 start to get things going.
Gavin Z Americans are always looking for excuses. The Europeans are better at the moment. Just accept it. Well, now that Johan Ruijsink won't be coming back you might have some chance. Hopefully he changes his mind.
Peter O'Donoghue I disagree, the americans have beaten the Europeans individually in prior tournaments so there's no evidence that they're particularly 'better' at all. As I said originally, I just don't think the american 'team' puts as much effort into preparing for the event, and they also rarely play against a clock. No 'excuses' there, I don't need to make any excuses as I didn't play.
Those are excuses. It is an excuse to blame the shotclock simply because "they are not used to it". Tony Drago was a snooker player, he would have literally never played under a shotclock, but you could give him an 8 second shotclock and he'd be fine. The Americans don't know how to play as a team and they don't know how to play under pressure from a crowd. They are all caught up in better than eachother that their team play suffers. If they had someone like Johan Ruijsink they would have had some chance. But they take it as seriously as the Europeans do, they just don't know how to prepare.
davids11131113 You are making excuses, what does it matter that you didn't play, it sounds like you are a usa fan. America do take it as seriously as Europe, I mean do you really think that USA don't care about being hammered on their home soil? Europe won because they had a great first day and played better as a team, while there were too many egos and complainers (yes you Strickland) in the american team.
