He wasn't ambitious for the title of the "Strongest", it was the only identity he had, he hated it and hated being alone cause of it, like Shoko said in Chapter 220. Suguru couldn't keep up with Satoru anymore which was one of the reasons he spiraled down into madness. He only realized Geto's feelings once it was too late and the opening song for s2 first half is a perfect reflection of it. Please be more careful of the information you spread, it villainizes Gojo in a way that is undeserved.

I'll have to disagree, Gojo did not leave Geto. In fact, he never did want to leave Geto. I'll be completely honest, It's because of how the higher ups treated the two. they were seperated by the higher ups, Bringing Gojo in every CASE due to the fact that he can now do it unlimited amount of times, leaving Geto out. Geto was the one that felt abandoned despite the fact that Gojo tried to help him, asking him "Hey are you okay? you seem to get skinny", Geto only answered "it's just summer heat". he also did not communicate to Gojo about how he felt and everything. On the contrary, Gojo did not even understand why Geto went down the path he took. He even ordered Geto "explain yourself, why did you do it? you told me we shouldn't kill innocent lives like that?" He couldn't even answer when Geto asked him "Are you Gojo Satoru because you're the strongest or are you the strongest because you're Gojo Satoru?" (Sorry I'm just an avid reader and chronically online too)
