Tbh it wasn't far fetched he was clearly showing his worth for arsenal in his last season was clearly better than Leno (many fans did admit that when he replaced him and produced magnficient performances consistently but after he left, fans acted differently, typical) and that's enough to give anyone an idea that he was destined for greatness and Argentina called him to the squad for the first time during that time as well. So let's not even try that 'no one saw that coming ' whoever saw him for arsenal in 2020 had an idea. Argentina didn't have any great goal keeper as well. So it was simple 1+1=2 type situation.
i mean you could say that to anyone, lloris from having no trophies with spurs won a world cup, umtiti a walking meme wins a world cup, benjamin mendy💀, mbappe from a random french kid in monaco wins a world cup in a crazy form. im talking about 2018 btw
@@dennisbergkamp640 i don't care about that turtle, as 🐐 DIBU MARTINEZ came clutch in the 123rd minute and the shootout and helped *MESSI* and Argentina lift the glorious world cup trophy. The pinnacle of football World.
As an Arsenal fan i'll always be grateful to players like Auba & David Luis for playing an integral part in winning us 2 trophies and getting us back into Europe
It's incredible how Emi Martínez changed his approach to Penalty shootouts, in this match he stood still in the middle of the goal, looking at his opponent. Now he moves on the line to distract the taker, throws de ball away, talks to the opponent, delays the shot as much as possible. This change is one of the reasons he has become such a beast on the penalty shootouts
amigo simplemente no sintio tanto al arsenal como cuando sintio la albiceleste... el arsenal solo le resto a este gran arquero... lo contenia, lo limitaba... su potencial lo encontró en aston jugando de titular!.
That still didn't always work, though. Maybe against France where his confidence and focus were through the roof due to being in a WC finale, but otherwise he honestly kind of did okay.
@@somethingwithultra7231what are you talking about ? In every penalty shootout they had he saved one and was a big reason they made it so far. He is just clutch
@@VoDkaGaMeR yeah, playing in an empty stadium just re-simulates your training session, which is something they are comfortable in. Emotion is almost gone and they will tend to play by memory.
@@VoDkaGaMeR yeah this is what i’ve been talking about in panalties between france and argentina, there were like 70000 argentians facing and booed france’s player’s when they were making their shoot
I dont care ..what anyone says i will always be grateful to martinez for the fa cup n charity shield cups, him n auba were instrumental...i understand auba leaving coz of issues with arteta but selling martinez just to go buy another keeper for 25 mili was an error...i knw ppl hate him now but he will always be arsenal player in my eyes
Quién iba a pensar que 2 años después sería el héroe de una final del mundo y sin contar copa América y finalissima grande mi gran Dibu 🇦🇷 gracias carajo
It doesn’t work like that. Performance in football is a very versatile asset. The moment a player signs for a top club like Arsenal (not tier 1 but historically and presently speaking among the top 25 clubs in the world for sure), it means he has proven to ve able to perform accordant to Arsenal’s standard. Of the whole Arsenal club will work on developing such player and trying to take the best out of him, but the most important resource comes from the player himself, from his willingness to get involved and prove himself. So really , from Arsenal’s pov, it’s unrational to be upset to let such a player go. The reason as I said before is there are many players who prove to have his potential, clubs always do their best to work them out, then it comes to the player. Can’t be upset about that. It’s a normal thing in football, of course everyone wants to keep players who prove themselves constantly. It just isn’t like that, many unlock their potential later in time, or by many other reasons. So it’s not a reason to be upset for clubs. In addition, as the guy before said, Araenal doesn’t have a problem at all in developing young talents
Man this match should be the BEST GOALKEEPER MATCH OF THE HISTORY. Coz here “Allison Becker” of Brazil and “Emiliano Martinez” of Argentina literally face off their ultimate mode
After 2.5 years Still emi Martinez improved and saved so many goals and penalties in world cup Where as Allison till now not able to save a penalty which cost Brasil in quarter final
The ONLY reason why this video was uploaded was to highlight Emi Martinez after his World Cup heroics. Not because we wanted to watch a Community Shielf match between Arsenal vs Liverpool lol. They are trying to milk this out as long as possible before the World Cup hangover goes away.
