When i saw her i tought she was going to be the one... However, she had some kind of attitude of superiority. She tough she was the one, and it was not the case. She was very prepotent and her answer did not weight 100%. She over indulged herself. Also she "forgot" to congratulate the beautiful, smart, and clever new Miss Universe... Not a great attitude for a great favorite...

She even smiled and had like 5 sec after the announcement done. Imagine that you cannot have even an announcement as a 1st runner up. How sad is that? And if I was there, I would rather let the newly crowded Miss Universe enjoy her moment. After all, there was a video shared among the internet that Anntonia hugged and congratulated to the Sheynnis. If you put their performances side by side, it became very apparent that Nicaragua was the complete package. Her swimsuit performance was energetic while Anntonia was rather awkward. In evening gown, Sheyniss was elegant and poise while Anntonia looked like she was trying to think of what next to do, ok, brush my hair away...you can almost hear her thoughts. Sheyniss was spontaneous while Annotnia was like walking on eggshells.
The point is - is miss universe are all about poised, elegance and charismatic charm or is it a Funtime show girl kind of high entertainment concept when representing themselves and their own country. All the girls entering the competition are oozing with confident when coming on the stage but giving a compelling memorable message of who they are and where they are from is what makes a difference. Miss universe first place this year is definitely giving out a feeling of Victoria secret vibes that is energetically bouncy and fun to watch and draw herself well as a center of attention with her lagers than life unforgettable smile and movement. In the meantime the second place dignified a well compose of calming elegance manner that up level the inner peace feeling through her beauty as well as successfully inspired her Thai culture beyond appreciation for many people watching and thinking that this is no longer just another girl in a dressing show. Admittedly I hold my hands up to this and never really thought much of pageant shown than just as another entertainment concept. I also think the Philippines girl gave out a really good example of powerful women statement, short hair, strong walks, long legs that could easily command a troops. A bit sad she didn’t get in the last five selections. Both girls characters are so very different in contrast but it is always down to the judges decision on what type of woman they wanted as their stage representation on that particular year.
@rgad07 of course as we knew that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder’s and when you have a panel full of Latino judges who else could the winner be. All girls are beautiful in this competition by looks but performance wise Thailand was by far one of the best. Nicaragua mimicking birds in a carnival like costume have been portrayed a hundred times over, although she was good but this is getting really boring. Now compared that to someone who can up values their culture in less than three minutes walks and mesmerized watching audiences as well as leave them wondering on which elegantly divine traditional or country of region she is from. Giving show performances such as this is much more spectacular and unique. Moreover, This sort of high light has also brought in a better dimension to this type of beauty pageants show. It’s nice seeing beautiful people in swimming suits and entertaining audiences with all of those designer evening gowns when representing themselves in a beauty competition. However, when a person can up level and represent a culture, or tradition of their national beliefs in an exquisitely memorable way then this is no doubt a higher achievement that deserves praised.
She was a lot more reserved in El Salvador than in Thailand. If she brought the same energy, she could have won the competition! Her walks were so much low energy compared to when she compete in her country. Nicaragua brought all of that in the competition!

Amazing oratory but she was too robotic on the runway and the makeup was too much for her, ofc shw looks amazing, but without it she's definitely a total different person, that's why she didn't won

They have to use half white apparently pure Thai is not attractive enough to represent Thailand. So use the Saigon girls. Shame on them. Philippines as well.
To be honest when she answered all questions, she so talented , confident, smart, and her knowledge proof that she deserves the crown. But I would respect the results

Just move on .....Nicaragua was the MISS universe 2023.....Antonia was a first runner up only......a downgrade queen......a title holder last 2019 ,now she was a runner up...,🤣🤣🤣...unlike other queen like Catriona 2018 miss universe Mexico. 2021, they joined miss world and end up as runner up before,,but after that they won the title in miss universe...... Antonia won the title last 2019,,but now ended up as runner up only......she is a downgrade queen
The best of her performances is when she was in her tradition ayuttayar costume period representing the belief of the Thai culture on their respect for the water goddess. We knew many of the Thai culture, tradition, beliefs and way of life derived from water aspects. Sungkran or water festival for traditional Thai new years is very famous and loved by tourists and visitors. So when Antonio emerged on the stage in water goddess like costume and her tribute through the captivating walk and show the hand performances thing so elegantly, it is definitely something we not seen before. Her presence was mesmerizing and a magnetic pulling all watching audiences deeper into Thailand beautiful culture. This is when we thought and 100% certain that the winner for this year pageant have to be her. Thought receiving the 2nd place was questionable because of Latino judges are mostly on the panel but it is what it is. However, watching on tv, we feel that this girl will go far in the media, television business because her charming charismatic character and compelling compose talent that is not to much of over acting or Victoria secret show but just right and naturally beautiful.

She is Danish, and they, the Thai people helping her, wanted to bring out more of the European features so they did a lot of plastic surgery on her. Sometimes parts of her face don't move anymore. I'm so sorry for her. She was naturally okay-looking as a Danish girl, but when she got the surgeries she couldn't move some parts of her face anymore. A shame, really.*
i think i would've felt sad for her or Nicaragua because to me, both deserved to win - most years are not like that; 2004, 2008 come to mind, but this year there were 2 who stood out among an amazing field.
Nicaragua out performed her and the other girls. Also is a natural beauty… Thailand had plastic surgery and is completely different without makeup (see videos )

I think the judges got it wrong. First runner up Miss Thailand Anntonia Porsild should have been chosen to be Miss Universe 2023 instead of Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacios. It's no comparison that Miss Thailand is much better candidate than Miss Nicaraguato to be Miss Universe. Also, Miss Thailand speaks English fluently and Miss Nicaragua cannot speak English well.
Yes, but she scored higher than Thailand during other part of the competition. At the end, they total up all the scores, so even if she didn’t do the best at the final Q&A, her other points helped her to get the crown. Also, you don’t need to be fluent in English to be the winner, English is not the only language in the world. Miss Universe is inclusive, plus many people speak Spanish, so that doesn’t take away anything.
Also, miss Nicaragua has very humble beginnings, never had a father to look after her. Even her own countrymen made fun of her in National TV laughing at her mother’s job selling pastries, as miss Nicaragua was her mother’s helper. To start the race of life at such a disadvantaged position and still arrive at Miss Universe to perform as well or better than many others who had more sheltered beginnings, that is amazing.
You were not following these 2 candidates.Before preliminaries Thailand was the darling of almost everybody followed by Nicaragua but after preliminaries Nicaragua took the lead, Thailand didn't perform well in the preliminaries, evening gown was awkward and she lacked energy and was very rigid in her performance as opposed to Nicaragua who was excellent in everything.

Sheynnis' sincerity was what got her the crown. She was able to beat the mega goddess Antonia Porsild who would have easily beat 99% of all previous Miss Universe titleholders.

During the Miss Universe 2023 Miss Thailand answered beautifully and with confidence and Miss Nicaragua cunning and should not win...I sent this to all who make RU-vid pertaining to Miss Universe 2023..USA, Thailand, Philippines all over the World! Don't know if the judges realised it or not that Miss Nicaragua was given time to 'think' for a moment when his interpreter translated her opinion...the final 3 queen last question she got such an advantage to 'paused' then answer back to straighten her words and opinions...Miss Nicaragua should answer the questions at top 5 and top 3 in full in her language than only the interpreter do her translation!!!...poor Miss Thailand,she answers beautifully and confidence but was not a winner. The True winner should be Miss Thailand not Miss Nicaragua!!! Hope the judges will revise their decision!!! Very unfair to Miss Thailand and Miss Australia!!!
