Simple repaint of the Origins castle Grayskull. This is the beginning, there will be a bunch of MOTU customizing on this channel soon. Follow us on instagram @vinejunglefigurefactory
A tip for the color concept: if you put a little violet in the shadows for the green and the wood, and use oranges to highlight the wood, you now have the holy trinity of secondary colors as a very cohesive basis. Now a little orange glow in the eyes... but, of course, in the traditional sense, this looks spectacular.
Love this! Great work showing all the steps and explaining the details, while making it quick to watch. I bet this would take me 4 days, but I might do it.
Aunque nos separe el idioma podemos empatizar por el maravilloso amor al plástico, adoro tu artwork!! Con el castillo GRAYSKULL!!! Saludos y ya tienes un nuevo subscriptor!!
You really gave it that Old School 80s traveling carnival ride look. It makes me want to listen to some 80s hairband/metal like the Heavy Metal sound track. Amazing paint job
I'm painting HeroQuest furniture atm in MOTU colours. But mine is Green & Magenta. Castle Greyskull was often quite different colours in the show, reflecting the sky, and a magenta/violet version was common. So I have my scheme.
It’s a lovely paint job, though I always see people paint the wood a colorful brown. In real life old wood tends to turn more grey, and this castle is meant to be ancient.
I love what You done with this....Do You do Commission work I just purchased a this same Playset and was wondering if You can paint Mine? Let Me Know??
Sadly you don´t do more videos of painting something. You could do a paintjob on Snake Mountain. I beleive it was you who said at He-Bro´s livestream that you find the snake-mountain-playset bad. Well, I like it but I don´t like the paintjob on it. Maybe it is something for your next video.
You an Artist man. No doubt. That is fn awesome. First time watching one of your videos I'll be sure to check out the rest. Again great video i felt like a kid Again looking at it. Im getting one. Where can I even find one?
Great work. I never imagined to use so many different colors and techniques. For example to paint every rock lighter at the top-section. AMazing , really ! I´ll keep on watching this channel.
@@vinejunglefigurefactory4569 Cool ! I started to paint the missing details of my figures. Using acrylic paint it almost always becomes sticky some weeks later. The soft plastic is worst, almost guaranteed to become sticky.
Me again ... How important are the brushes for the dry-brush-technique ? I found out that dry-brushing works best (or sometimes only) with a wide, flat brush. But I am not sure about the hardness of the hairs. I never bought me a brush for dry-brushing. I always used any flat, wide brush I found somewhere that nobody used anymore. No Idea of the exact names or the hardness-level of the hairs. I Don´t even know if these kind of brushes have a "hardness-level". Sometimes my dry-brushing leaves nasty stripes, sometimes it looks almost perfect like sprayed. Are there any kind of "rules" for the selection of the right brush for the "dry-brush-technique" ? Looks like you use a flat brush with long hairs. But how about the "hardness-level" ?
They are actually pretty important- I prefer a wide semi stiff bristle brush. I really like the natural fiber 1" chip brushes for most dry brushing. the stripes are brush strokes from an overloaded brush- work to get a bit more paint off the brush and make sure you go over the area in different directions so the brush strokes cancel each other out. I hope that helps!
@@vinejunglefigurefactory4569 Thanks a lot, That in fact helps. But one thing I don´t understand because english is not my language : 1" chip brush. I assume 1" means "one inch". Does it mean one inch wide or long ? But what means "chip" ?
@@ChrisFoley0803 a 1" chip brush is 1 inch wide, the brustles are natural fiber and pretty course, they have a wooden handle and a metal ferrule holding the bristles to the handle.
@@vinejunglefigurefactory4569 it says: really good paint job and that i was afraid because i got also a greyskull castle and want to paint it as well 😁
This is amazing. I bought two (arriving Monday) and will be repainting one of them (other will likely stay sealed (but who am I kidding I'll probably just not repaint it). This gives me what I want. The look, though I'll have to do grout lines by hand (no airbrush). Thank you for actually putting the paints you are using on screen. Even if I end up getting them at Michael's, the names will be very similar. Going to paint up my Hallmark Castle Grayskull ornament to begin the journey into this incredible larger scale.
You inspired me to tackle painting my castle greyskull from Clash of Eternia. Doesn't look quite as great as yours but I'm super happy with it thanks to using some of your techniques. Thank you so much for sharing! Hoping to see more MOTU painting videos sometime here.
