Freddie is a legend, no one compares to him. It would’ve been a nightmare casting someone that looks like him AND can act great. Rami was perfect for the role, he did an amazing job. He honored Freddie. Freddie would’ve been proud. No more shit against Rami please. ❤️
Rami did the most amazing job of bringing our beloved Freddie back to us. Every accolade he won was well deserved. I can say that as a Queen fan of 43 years.
@@user-lp4bq5uq4b I KNOW how and what Freddie was.he was a legend to me for much of my life. I celebrate 44 years as a Queen fan this year. I am old enough. Please don't cause trouble where we seek only joy. Thank you and Happy New year
@@danielnobile7635He in fact looks like a claymation version of Freddie, while the original Freddie looks more like a muppet. He's too slim and the face just doesn't work. If this was a parody I'd say it's fine. Also, they shouldn't have filmed him from that weird upwards angle all the time, it makes him look silly. He's doing a great job though.
It's actually pretty amazing and admirable how damn close the film version was to the original performance, right down to very small details... I mean, they could have easily gotten away with having it vaguely similar to the original and most people would never notice, so I respect that they put that amount of effort in for the sake of doing it justice.
I have seen, on TV I remember vell, this year, and my emotions, from, this performance, The Biggest and Best,- consert of the World!!!!! And l was very glad, to see it! Bravo!
Even though it’s not a exact replication (which is kinda impossible to recreate) I love how Rami did the exact movements that Freddie did from the live aid recording at (for the most part) the exact times w/ the music. I love the attention to detail. Long love Queen and long live Freddie 🤟
My friend said they found a guy who looked like Freddie Mac, could dance like Freddie Mac, talk like Freddie Mac, walk like Freddie Mac, and probably play the piano like Freddie Mac. I asked if he sung, he just said, "IF they could find a guy who could do all of the above AND sing like Freddie Mac, do you think they'll make a movie? No! They'll re-start the band Queen with Rami as the lead singer!"
The fact that was the first scene filmed just gives this AMAZING performance even more credit to the actors. Utter genius. I say this as an insane Queen fan
True he did said dis ones when he was bowin his head lookin sad n depressed yet he fooled his close friends by coming out with such amazing testo line hhh n it was way b4 he bcm a big influence n hit in dis wrd..hhh yet it really happend in reality as he preficted 2B...just like movie The Secret or so hhh !!!!
I think Rami was outstanding in the role, and nobody could gave done it better. But every time I watch it I can’t take my eyes off of Freddie. He was just a magical singer and performer.
@@carolmercado9978 Freddie Mercury had stage presence and knows how to get a crowd going definitely but honestly nobody is tied with Michael he literally moved the world all races no matter who you were MJ performances and work ethic and dancing let alone Vocals were untouchable
@@clintoruss153 Based off of what ? One clip , where everyone knew he was going through things and the band breaking up and cheating back together? He had a band , MJ had himself people would faint in every single concert people would sing his entire performance he sold out everything. When you see crowds in Michael Jackson's concerts no undercards no anything. Queen had every band with them for this one it wasn't just them who had the crowd going.
All kudos to Rami, but even watching this as a side-by-side comparison, it's hard to not just watch Freddie 💙 his magnetism was incredible. Born to be a legend.
i was a uni student at a time and i remember saying to my best friend - he is so ugly that he is beautiful.. magnetism.. it can't ba taught, it can't be replicated.. so damn sexy even if he was playing for the other team
"We are the champions ... of the world." What a way to end the performance. And at that moment, they were. And they made everyone feel that they, too, were the champions. Seventeen minutes that changed the lives of millions. And continues to do so.
Still get chills when he sings Radio Gaga and does the vocal warm up, then the absolute best rendition of "Hammer to Fall". I think I was 5 or 6 when they did this. I was 11 the year Freddie died.
What rami did was enormous... He had to bring on screen a very very spontaneous moment of Freddie and make it seem as legendary as it was... But at the same time not fake at all, he had to copy all his expressions and hand moves and all the craziness Fred had over there... Really hard thing to do
Freddie Mercury is an irreplaceable legend, his performance just cannot ever be compared to. That said, I don't think that anyone else could have come as close to honoring Freddy as Rami has.
Rami is a genius. At times I forgot he wasn't Freddie. Freddie will live in my heart forever for the giant talent he was, and Rami honored him perfectly.
It wasnt till I got older that I learned to appreciate Freddie's voice and style. Now I wish I had the opportunity to see Queen perform, must have been spectacular.
My name is Eleanor I was around 81 years old when I first watched Bohemian Rhapsody the movie, I knew Queen when I was younger but I didn't know them really, until I watched the movie and now I'm so sorry ( also like you) that I missed them. I would have gone to watch them in a concert for sure!! Love Freddy and Queen, the words mean so much more to me now (their songs). I'd give anything to be able to watch them in concert!!!
I am the same. I missed the whole era and now am enthralled and so sad that I did miss it in real life. Amazing how Freddie can still reach out into your soul.
My daughter and I watched Bohemian Rhapsody as soon as it was available on DVD. We have decided, Brian May went back in time, got younger, then came back to this time, and played himself IN the movie. There is no way THAT person allegedly "playing" Brian May, ISN'T the real Brian May..there is no other explanation...Rami was just amazing. Couldn't have gotten a better actor, Rami was spot on, even though he was 3rd choice..and he is two inches shorter than Freddie. I have loved Rami since Twilight days. I actually didn't think he was tall enough to pull Freddie off, and yet he did. Loved the film!!
@@elvizprezley2850 umm, yeah. I typed DVD. Mind explaining to me WHY you find that so amusing? I may enjoy a laugh with you, however right now, I do not understand what is so funny... Don't you humans HAVE dvd's??
@@rajasimuley367 lol if he IS too young to understand DVD, then he must be well under 2 years old. My 2 year old grandson knows what a DVD is and what it does.
The pressure he must've been under, while filming, had to have been unimaginable! Stepping in to play Freddie fn Mercury, for the whole world to watch & critique, is one hell of challenge. He did a great job!
Boy, did Rami bring the essence of Freddie Mercury to his performance. Amazing job I wasn't born when Queen was at it's peak and was 5 when Live Aid happened, but was lucky enough to get to hear Queen as I grew up and knew of their amazing songs (due to my brothers and sister being older and getting to experience the band at their best). It was only when I got older than I learn what a true incredible on stage performer Freddie was. RIP Freddie . You're still remembered as the amazing performer.
I'm 50 and grew up listening to Queen. I never knew so many things about this amazing band and Freddie Mercury until I saw that movie. I now have a new appreciation for these songs when I hear them.
The textbook definition of a frontman. The moves, the charisma, the connection to the fans and the VOICE. Freddy is the greatest ever. And Malek did him a great honor.
Rami did a fantastic job in the film and Freddie was the ultimate showman on stage. Queen will always be one of the best bands in the world and their music will last for generations to come.
@@roverwaters3875 I actually have watched it 12 times.....pretty good for an old lady of 82!! I downloaded before being charged for........so I watch it anytime now! It is helping me stay young.....maybe I will make it to 83! I still dance to it the songs that get me going, just can’t stand still!! QUEEN is the greatest.....it has helped me recover from the death of my husband 2 years ago. We were married 60 years, since we were 15/16 in high school, I am lost without him. Thank you QUEEN.....and especially Freddie, you all are such a wonderful inspiration for this old lady❣️♥️😉👍🏻♥️
Never tire of watching this. Freddie was one of a kind, an anomaly. Perfect control of his voice, musical genius, writer and the best showman. He will live forever in our minds, hearts and enjoyment of the best songs ever.
I love seeing the audience engaging with the music, hands clapping and free of phones. One of the things I hate about today’s concerts (besides the fact that my short ass can’t see much) is that everyone spends the entire time recording it with phones in hand. I can understand a couple seconds recording or take shots for social media but they do it for the entire concert. Enjoy the music and the vibe surrounding you.
Celebrities never die. Even when they are gone, their light shines for millions of years. This star will never go out because of this wonderful charisma. Freddie forever.
Seeing it next to each other it was so great he was just so amazing and Rami surely deserves so much props for a excellent job .rip Freddy I love you ♥️
Seeing both liveaids t was so awesome 👍 great job Freddy he surly knows how to give a beautiful concert he had the audience in the palm of his hands💗💗💗
Before I watched the film I thought "Rami Malek? I can't see it". Not long into it I was picking my jaw off the floor. What a role to conquer and to make people feel so intensely, all over again. One if those brilliant movies that do honour a legend.
It was incredible just how much Rami prepared for this role. He made a complete study of Freddie Mercury and from the interviews I have seen, was so happy to have played this role. And he prepared for a long time, really put the work in. Honestly they all did! Ben is hitting the drums just like Roger Taylor. All just so good! Rami really respected Freddie and deserved that Oscar!
Like others said Freddy can't be replaced never but to have to play him was a big job of course he lipsunc he ain't a singer but he did a amazing job he deserves all the game money big shoes to fill ❤️👍
From what i understand, he wore a set of dentures that were an exact replica of mercury's teeth. He had extra teeth or something like that. Something about his dentistry was credited to freddies unique singing
@@jeremywoods770 yes and from I have seen from interviews, he had to graduate up to the full set of Freddie’s teeth. He had to learn to talk as each set grew larger. And he, of course, kept the final version of Freddie’s teeth. I would have as well. ❤️
I remember watching this concert and somehow I knew at 10 years old that it was going to legendary. Every show Queen did was great but Freddy was a man on fire that night.
I was a fan of Queen for over 30 years when he died. It utterly broke my heart. Freddie was such a showman, fantastic talent and vocals, lyrics, and personality. I did not care about his sexuality at all. Just a pure genius. Rami, did an excellent job of a most iconic and much loved man in the music business. For Queen to welcome him in and still be friends with him, shows that. Rami is a comes across as a very humble, down to earth, grateful actor, with respect for everyone around him. I wish there were more actors as nice as him around. RIP Freddie Mercury. Love him forever.
I care for his sexuality and i believe that had a everything to do with the charismatic personality he brought on stage. A straight freddie would never have been this magnetic nd charismatic on stage.
Rami is a brilliant actor with a love for music as proved in the film night at the museum 2, also the current frontman of Queen Adam Lambert was in the film Bohemian he played the trucker with the beard
It's eerie just how much the actors portraying Queen in Bohemian Rhapsody look like their real-life counterparts. They all did an absolutely amazing job and all deserve Oscars! I think the soul of Queen took over the actors - I don't have any other explanation for it.
Agreed! All respect to Rami for embodying Freddie, but the actor playing Brian May NAILED IT. Throughout the film, even his soft-spoken voice was right on.
My dad and his buddies seen queen before way back and he said it was pretty cool. I only wish I was alive at the time. I’m 29 years old. I grew up listening to them. 💕💕
I’m the biggest Freddie fan you will ever meet. I know every movement every song and Remy did him to a T! He was spot on and I never thought anyone could do Freddie but he nailed it!! Great job 🎉
He was cast perfectly for the role!! AND you can tell Rami worked really hard to be as true as possible to Freddy -- just check out the way they both hold the mic. THE DETAIL!!
1) Bohemian Rhapsody 00:00 2) Radio Gaga 2:19 3) Eh Oh 4:50 4) Hammer To Fall 5:30 5) Crazy Thing Called Love 8:28 6) We Will Rock You 12:02 7) We Are The Champions 13:19
This Is Always Very Amazing, To Watch The Side By Side Of Freddie And Queen, And Rami And The Band Members, That Portrayed, Brian, Roger, And John!! It's Absolutely Perfect, That All 4 Of Them, Looked So Much Like, Freddie, Brian, Roger, And John!!! Absolutely Stunning, And Was So Perfect In The Bohemian Rhapsody Movie!! God Bless Them All!!! 💖💖💖💖 Love From Illinois USA 🇺🇸 July 9, 2022
And this is why he won the Oscar! As far as the concert itself - probably the greatest rock performance of all time. The Ay-oh that was heard around the world. I will never forget it.
I have a friendly acquaintance who is a singer in a very famous band. They play for crowds like this. I never thought about this but he said that part of what they think about while on stage is how fans react during the songs. They don't want them to get too out of control because people get injured so when they're writing their set list they have to kind of keep the emotions evenly balanced depending on where they're playing. There's more to it than just playing and leaving. It was very informative.
Realmente no me canso de ver esta película con mí hija adolescente, excelente actor, honró a Freddie Mercury, se metió en el personaje. I LOVE you Freddy Mercury por siempre 😻
Ninguém nunca vai substituir alguém, mas Rami foi perfeito na interpretação, nós movimentos. Parabéns Rami, você merece todos os aplausos, por ter homenageado Freed.
What an outstanding performance by Malik! I’ve heard actors say that playing a real person is inherently difficult as it is challenging not to devolve into a caricature. For the Live Aid scenes, how Malik must have studied that footage! Every movement, every expression is spot on. But it is how he embodied Freddie as a man, depicting this amazing talent’s vulnerabilities that also helped make this an Oscar-worthy performance. Bravo indeed!
Everytime I hear this live aid version of the small bit of Bohemian Rhapsody, and Freddie sings," I don't want to die.." Tears me apart and I just lose it. It's like he LITERALLY shared his life with fans. Giving pieces of the time he had left to each one, until he gave it all away. He is impossible not to love. Amazing life story, amazing talent in every way, and though he beat the odds on getting his iconic fame, damn I wish he beat the other odds, too. The voice shoots straight to your soul. What an artistic visionary and loving soul. Love you, Farrokh. 💖💖💖💖
Just turned 60 45 minutes ago. I was at live aide and witnessed the very best if ROCK N ROLL displayed by Freddie's goodbye. TRULY FREDDIE YOU ARE OUR QUEEN. Love n miss you, Kimbo Blood ❤
Обожаю Богемскую рапсодию, отличный фильм, прекрасная актерская игра , все так классно сыграно, даже порой забываешь что это фильм, кажется вот он живой, ФРЕДДИ ❤❤❤❤❤
Rami did an amazingly credible job of portraying someone truly touched by the gods. I adore Freddie to this day and Rami let me bring that adoration back to the forefront smoothly. Zero distortion. Now I dig them both 🥰
Truly amazed at how on point the directors made the clip. just finished watching Bohemian Rhapsody, and I loved it so much. Rami Malek has been a favourite actor of mine since Night At The Museum. 100% deserved the Best Actor
I don't get why people are giving Rami shit. I mean, unlike Freddie, Rami wasn't making everything up as he went along He was mirroring a legend with a furiously ravenous fan base. He also had to do this whole movie with his mouth full of prosthetics. Hand that man an Oscar already!!!
