For anyone wondering, the defence from Barwell was that the safety car lights went out coming out of Cascades, so the leader backed them all up, by the time they came back on again there was a massive gap and the leader couldn't see them. The leader spotted the lights out on the safety car and reacted accordingly
Thank you for the upload.... Penalties after the race results are a slap in the face to the fans at the track in the pissing down rain or burning sun... If you need to study instant telemetry for hours after the races, It isn`t the correct telemetry. If A drive through is warranted it should happen while the race is on, then the result at the flag can stand ? 30 sec penalty was a good decision, I think that the boss of the team didn`t get to race control in time to put up a defence. Maybe... Then no penalty ???????
Alright so that means its ok to cheat on the last lap as long as the stewards don't have time to initiate a penalty, because the result at the flag stands according to your logic. Teams have to follow the rules and if they don't, they get penalized. Deal with it. I've had my favorite cars bumped from wins to zero points because of penalties before, its nothing new.
I’m sure the fans in the rain/sun would prefer the rules be followed and punishments made appropriate than to have the incorrect result stand forever and change the outcome of the championship.
That's got to be pretty awesome feeling for a father/son duo. Pretty cool watching them win too, been a Collard family fan for a while. Hope it was legit.
