Am I the only one thinking crashing in cockpit view while using this would be horrific?

You can tell the guy is an aviation buff. He has probably always liked flight sims, and now with Oculus Rift, he can take his hobby and passion to the next level. Flight sim players are truly a breed apart. Google flight sim rigs. Standard enthusiast PC gaming hardware, and trips to the hobbyist hardware store constructing resources an contraptions to enhance their flight experience are commonplace. This dude is just a guy trying to live out his dreams of being a fighter pilot. Racers, shooters, and roleplayers can probably all understand this singular truth. Let the haters hate. More power to him.

I have been waiting 25 years for this. Seriously. I bought my first computer in 1991 and my first game was Their Finest Hour - The Battle of Britain by LucasFilm Games.

Looks so immersive, your depth of field seems to be extremely helpful. To see your reaction when 6-7 planes were flying dead at you was priceless. Excellent stuff here!

I love how far flight simulators have come . I remember playing red barron 3D as a kid on pc . All we had was a joystick and a year or so later the foot pedals came out

That's a sick setup man even just playing with a VR headset and a mouse and keyboard like I have it still so much better than the regular non VR experience

When i used to play flight sim games, i always wanted a virtual cockpit. Never thought of using vr headset! Great idea!

Now my dream to become a pilot without going to college is soon coming to reality..

I got myself a triple monitor for my PC and I remember the feeling of flying a spaceship with it for the first time. One time I got disoriented when I was doing a barrel roll. I can't wait for final version of oculus rift.

Have flown flight sims for years moved to VR a month ago and will never fly any other way again. You get a true sense of speed and altitude and the motion of flight. Couple this with a cockpit and a sim with a real flight model, (DCS), and it is a real game changer.

I would never leave that chair. VR is going to be really bad for me. I'm a flight enthusiast. I fly RC stationary as well as Fpv. Can't wait to have full head movement in my flight games. War Thunder would be amazing. Looking forward to Elite Dangerous and Eve Valkyrie as well.

This is pretty cool.One of my goals is to do this one day.This is the closest you can get being a fighter pilot in WW2.I can't imagine what gaming will look like in the future.Must be so immersive.

That is cool.The only upgrade I could find would be some motors on the chair that's tilts with the in game aircraft.Still that is so cool.

The only thing missing is a hydraulic seat to simulate the plane's movements.

How do you feel after a long gaming session using this? Do you notice sore neck / back, or strain on the eyes? How well do you do on average using this over any other devices like keyboard/mouse or flight stick? What is the price you paid for the setup as shown? Definitely looks like a cool experience, all that is missing is to motorize it so you can give the person a feeling of flight with some simulated g-force.

From a real pilot perspective this thing is way to laggy...compared with flight sim i get certifications on...but for gaming i guess is okey?
