hi adidas terrex. which of the shoes is thorn proof or for dry climate hiking?

I certainly agree that they are not really a light hiker. They are very solid, built like a tank.

Can we wear it on a daily basis? I will be going to Germany for studies and will be wearing it so that it works for out for all purposes, and I don't want to spend much on another pair of shoes.

True. After a year the Swift R3 show little sign of wear on the soles.

@@Dusty_Hikers I found this shoe was good for hiking on and up abrasive igneous rocks. It resists wear better than a softer soled shoe and offers the right protection. I suspect Adidas designed the shoe for exactly this purpose but somehow the trekking and climbing experts in the Terrex sub-brand don't seem able to state the specific uses of a shoe on the website or explain why one shoe is more appropriate than another. A lot of Adidas boots are purchased by people who just want to wear them for light leisure activities but the Terrex subbrand has some boots and shoes that wouid be uncomfortable and pointless for anything other than their specific & narrow purpose. Stuff like the Agravic Ultra trail runners, the Swift R3s you tested and the Skychaser Tech. I'd recommend you try the Free Hiker 2 GTX which had a softer continental sole and is very cushioned, and the Skychaser Tech Mid which has a pebax plate for fast mountain hiking. I have trekking friends raving about both boots.

I would get the 12. They are very true to size. I am afraid an 11 would be too short.

if you're hiking, you want to get half a size up too

It has a tall stack so light snow should not come in the top of these shoes. There is a Goretex version that would work fine in light snow. They also have deep lugs.

Hey Bird, These have a mesh fabric upper and I imagine saw dust would find it’s way in there. Also, the soles have very deep lugs like cleats on a soccer shoe. I don’t think they would be very effective on concrete. I would go for something with all leather uppers. Danner has great work shoes. Check them out.

HI, I'm a bit late. I have Adidas Terex (gtx) swift 2. They are dustproof and waterproof. I wear them in summer for days in the field. All dry earth and they did not have even one partical of dust in them. I had white socks. Payed about 90e - 100e and had them for 3 years now.

I have been hiking in them lately with wool socks and they are fine but it was not freezing or particularly wet. They are mesh so they will take on water if you don’t have the goretex version.

Hola podrías comentarme. Si la tabla de tallas de la marca es confiable? Necesito un par #10 US que son (28 cm) pero según la tabla de Adidas este estilo de zapato vendria siendo talla 11 US (27.9cm) tengo dudas si confíar en pedir el num segun la Marca?

Thanks for sharing. I think the shoes are so rigid and stiff they cause heal slip.

I would NOT trail run in these. They have very deep, rigid lugs and you would risk slipping.
