In this video I get to review the incredible split ergonomic keyboard that is the Glove80.
I do my reviews with a focus on software developers, as I'm always looking for the most customizable and comfortable to use keyboard. And to be honest, I think I've found it.
Check out the review and let me know in the comments what you thought about it, and if you've tried the Glove80, what were your thoughts? Are you still using it?

I have had a glove 80 for about 3 weeks now.... I have come from a standard qwerty non split logitech keyboard. It sure is taking some time to learn and I still am making many mistakes especially in programming. I am slowly adapting my layers to aid but every time I do, I need to retrain my brain. I hope the learning curve eases off soon. I'm 50 and not the fastest learner in town.... I definitely feel the potential.... but right now can''t get the full benefit and now am in a situation where my words per-min have tanked as well on a standard keyboard.... It's quite the experience....

Hey! Thanks for sharing! What motivated you to make the switch? Were you suffering from any pain? Or were there other reasons? As for the slow typing experience, I'd say it's completely normal and expected if you've never used a split keyboard. That said, are you using pages like monkeytype.com/ and www.keybr.com/ to practice? Especially the second one is great for practicing common key combinations. Give them a try if you haven't!

There is a time when it really sucks. Give you brain time to adapt and try to practice daily

@@elPach0 It took me 2 months to get fully up to speed again, so don't worry. You start useless, then you get better but are frustrated because you know that you're better at typing than this. Then, about a month and a half to two months in, you'll just be typing and realise how you haven't felt annoyed for being slow in a while.

LOVE your honesty!! RTFM? No! I'd love to hear an honest head-to-head comparison of Voyager vs Glove80.

Thank you! I would love to do a head-to-head comparison, I just haven't been able to get my hands on the Voyager!

Thanks for the review, I've been looking to get my very first split ergo keyboard and it's a bit hard with all the options available out there. I'm in a similar boat as you, 9-12 hrs working as a software dev, between this Glove80 and the UHK v2 which one would you recommend? I'm inclining more for the UHK just because of the available modules, does the Glove80 have any module options? I like the idea of using the key cluster and the trackball later on with the UHK, but I'm also liking the slightly more ergonomic design of the Glove80 with the curved keys.

Glad you liked the review! Gotta say, I've been eyeing the UHK myself, but the staggered layout and the lack of a keywell make it less appealing to me than something like the Glove80, or even my Dactyl Manuform. The support for modules definitely makes it interesting, however, I would be sacrificing all the power I get on my thumbcluster for the ability to use the mouse with my right thumb. Personally I would advice for the Glove80, but like I always try to say when recommending keyboards, in the end it's all a matter of personal preferences. If YOU like the UHK better, then that's the right choice for you.

Thanks for your review! How long did it take you to get used to the key well and staggered layout?

Hey, no time at all. The main thing to get used to once you make the switch into a keyboard like this one, is the fact that is a split, but once you're used to that, the columnar layout and the key well feel more natural, so it's just a matter of doing some monkeytype.com challenges and you'll feel like at home!

Just a heads up, this keyboard isn't hotswappable!

Good catch! My bad, that's probably the only thing I haven't tried with the keyboard yet. I should've tried it before making the video, my mistake. Thanks for the correction!
