I made one of these and was super exited to use it, and found out real quick that going up a straight tree is great. Anything leaning, not so much, and awkward. Also if your not reppeling going down another very awkward reverse move. Also if going over limbs on the way down more awkwardness. Just wanted to put that out there for folks looking into it.

Have it, love it. Definitely get the daisy extensions though.

Great review. I've been onesticking for a while, until my rope came free from my cam cleat. Luckily I was tied up correctly and just ended up with some bad scratches and a few bruises. I had everything hooked up correctly, but stepping on the top of my stick provided just enough side to side movement to pop my rope out of the cleat. 25' up never been more scared. Never gonna count on that cam cleat again. Probably happens more that most people admit. This seems like a much safer way to climb..Thanks for your video.

Thank you kindly sir. You've realized one of my great fears. Any off-ground hunting requires respect and a healthy fear.

You gotta tie a knot with the tag end. Just one simple overhand will make that much harder to happen.

- I haven't watched your back catalog - Did you have a webbing latter incorporated in your onestick gear at all?? (could allow additional flexibility - ascend descend on the ladder rungs... PS, I am not a tree hunter- it isn't real common in Australia - I look at tree climbing stuff for other reasons, even just fun and curion to see technical solutions for free climbing -? safety..

Good morning. I did have a ladder, yes. I use this Sladder basically the same way as 1-sticking. Although I'm fine tuning my process and will probably send an updated video.

Only thing that stinks, is you still have to carry a platorm to hunt from. Where as with an ewo stick youre form of climbing is also your hunting platform! Cool idea for sure!

Agreed, wholeheartedly. What I found though, is that I still use my big platform for longer hunts (2+ hours) because the smaller platforms were MURDER on my feet. I'm actually prepping another video that addresses this very thing. 😁🇺🇸

@@DrizzyD670that’s why you get the treetop hunting mobile Snyper one stick and have a full sized platform once at hunting height plus an easier climb because you are not climbing over a platform. This is a great idea but after using other iterations of this I found it not enjoyable. Aiders already suck climbing and leaning trees were rough with this type of climbing.

I have been through 3 different one-stick w/platforms looking for a comfortable platform, to no avail. I just did some preliminary research on this Snyper...🤔🤔 Thanks for the tip..looks bad ass. I'm going to check it out for sure. But my points made in the video remain. This sladder offers nearly all the perks of one-sticking plus several additional pros. So I'm definitely trying it out for a season. But I get restless and usually upgrade my kit every spring. 😂😂 Anyway, cheers! Happy hunting.

JRB DSRT rope climb and use a lower limb to stand on to be ultra light.

@@kirkloos8141 I have the Snyper and the Sladder. The Snyper is roughly 6.2 lb with cleat, rope, and aider. The Arsenal RZR Magnum 2.0 is the same size as the Snyper platform, actually a half inch bigger in length. The RZR is 2.8 lb paired with Sladder 1.8 lb. Climbing with a Sladder and Platform is a pound and a half lighter that the Snyper. Aiders are used in one sticking also. Same concept with the Sladder.

Especially when you have to buy the daisy chain extensions to use it in a lot of trees.

So did you ever show a test climb in the video? Take a look at the JRB Universal Tree Climbing System. Safe and fun DIY rope climbing. Always tied in and no slack ever in the system! Can DRT, SRT and even hitch climb if no limbs on the tree within reach.

Sup my dude. I did a test climb in a different video. I'll post the link. As for rope climbing, yes, I've seen all JRB's vids. And I rope climbed an entire season before moving onto climbing sticks and never looking back. My next video will compare the various approaches the climbing. I appreciate you my guy. 🔥 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AS_h72mMlpY.html

The issue with one sticks is that you are stuck with that platform. You have to pay a butt ton of money to try different one sticks with different platforms. You can pair the Sladder with a ROS, smaller platform, larger platform. It's more versatile. That was one of the major selling points for me. Being comfortable for hours in the tree is way more important that the short time it takes to climb.

Spot on, my dude. Comfort is my #2 priority, second only to safety.
