Line 2 'Trillium' was originally built as a LRT pilot project. It runs between Bayview and Greenboro transitway stations, serving as a connector between South Ottawa and downtown. It also serves Carleton University and Dow's Lake (through Carling station). Unusually, this Light Rail line is operated with regional diesel multiple units imported from Germany.
