This is the full route visual for the 5A which runs from Leicester Haymarket Bus Station to Melton Mowbray Valley Road via Belgrave Gate, the Golden Mile, Belgrave, Rushey Mead, Thurmaston, Syston, Queniborough Bypass, East Goscote, Rearsby, Brooksby, Rotherby, Kirby Bellars, Asfordby, Asfordby Hill and Melton Town Centre.
It's run by Arriva from Thurmaston at a 20-minute frequency, combining with the 5 for a 10-minute frequency along Melton Road using 16-plate ADL E400 MMCs with stop-start technology, however, for the visual back to Leicester (I had to go back the day after this due to recording issues), I got a VDL DB250 Wrightbus Gemini, which I was very happy with as I never got to sample it when they were the norm. Also, I got a brutally fast driver for this visual, despite loose chippings being surfaced on the A607.

EM Rail My iPhone 7. It’s not the best, it reacts to every bump, has a stupid focus thing (just go watch my 158 ride which I recorded after the visual), and it has a lot of grain, and it overheated on a few visuals meaning I had to go back and redo: 5A (this route) to Leicester 48 to South Wigston 50 to Narborough 127 to Leicester (that one actually took 3 attempts, and still sucked once it was exported).

Whats the difference between the 5 and the 5a?

The 5 only goes as far as East Goscote. There’s a little loop around the Long Furrow. It also turns off slightly to serve the main part of Queniborough.
