Not true. The route runs along the motorway which is unique and means much faster connection from the northern suburbs to the centre. The buses themselves are; more eco-friendly, equipped USB charge points and WiFi - all of which are significant upgrades the the existing First Bus fleet.
@The secular humanist I disagree. A car may be faster but is also more expensive when you factor in all costs. It's a balancing act. It may be the case that the reduction in journey time achieved by the metrobus, coupled with the lower cost vs private transport, is enough to entice people to chose metrobus. I also think its debatable as to whether car is actually quicker. During rush hour Bristol suffers from notorious gridlock, which is largely avoided by the metrobus by using bus lanes (including on the motorway).
