Wait a second. A guy who liked the old Himalayan likes also the new one? Interesting. And cudos to the 450 Himi, as it not only looks like it is built like a tank, but delivers even in situations that are a bit beyond the scope for what an adventure bike has to be capable of.
@@Pedrriiiiiiii you are welcome to find her cool asf… I don‘t… She is naive, can‘t ride bikes (even though she rode thousands of KM‘s - unbelievable) and she should take care of herself unless she wants to get hurt real bad one day… Insecure riding and touring the world off road is a high stakes gamble.
@@Roxak She bought a factory 411 and rode it from the factory in India to the Netherlands. She is now going a trip on an 80's XT600. What have you done in your life?
@@Yvolve well what have you done first of all, i‘m not a fan of bragging with some one elses achievements and i never said she hasnt achieved anything - read again, it‘s my opinion and that‘s it.
I’m 65 now and have ridden mountain trails in the Pacific Northwest of the US, road raced, and owned and ridden MANY sport bikes, dirt bikes, and dual sports. I currently ride a 701 because of its relatively light and has plenty of power. I state this not because I’m proud of everything, but rather I feel very fortunate and privileged to have had all of those experiences. A bike like the Himalayan is appealing to me because a day is coming when the Husky will be too much and the Himi would allow me to continue in something I love. Heck… it hassles me now ! It’s the Leatherman of motorcycles.
@@varun2250it’s not all about weight. Seat hieght and power delivery come into play as one gets older also. Maybe as you get older it will make more sense to you.
I dropped my 3 day old Himi 450 on the Bridgestone trail at the ABR. It was the first time I had done any off road riding, the guy behind ran over my leg but I finished the trail without any further incident, well chuffed and it was still good to ride home on the Sunday. Waiting to get its first service done and hopefully find some more trails near me
Fantastic video Chris, you rode the wheels off the Himi, amazing riding style. That bike could shift !!! Didn't know about "Bike World" until I found this video, looks like my type of channel(Super). I'll spread the word in Northern Ireland.✊ Love the Rallies and the relaxed friendly people that compete🙌
Great video Chris giving the Himi some love, I think we can all agree the biggest difference between the bikes on that day was you, no? Not sure id flatter the bike like that 😂
as an ex-enduro racer i have to say, getting this thing in the top 40 on stock susps, either this bike is way better than we think or you are a monster of a rider cuz gaaaawd dayum son! Top 40 on a Himi?!! Jeeeeeeesus!!!
Hey man great video, you were a hero on the motorcycle. Would you guys please do a project on the Himalayan it would be great to see how the motorcycle would perform with better suspension and maybe a 18inch rear rim.
The original Himalayan was developed as an India-only adventure bike to tackle rough trails in the Himalaya mountains - "the roof of the world" and the toughest highest terrain imaginable. After successful test rides in the unforgiving mountains that lent the bike it's name RE management then decided to unleash the Himalayan on the world...
Chris, I’d love to see you review the Triumph Scrambler 400X! Your insights on the Himalayan 450 are always spot on, and I think you’d offer a great perspective on the Scrambler as well. Keep up the great work!”
Isn’t the Triumph basically a modified road bike? From what I understand, that’s what makes RE Scram special. It’s based on an adventure bike, not a road bike.
@@SamiPaju I believe that the Triumph 400X outshines the Royal Enfield Scram 411 by offering a far superior blend of on-road refinement and adventure capability. While the RE scram is stuck in its off-road focused design, If you want a bike that truly excels on the road while still handling occasional off-road challenges,i think the Triumph 400X is clearly the superior choice..IMO
@@zatemalsawm5826 I guess it comes down to what you want from a bike and the kind of riding you mean to put it through. That said, I’m really curious to see if RE is going to put that 450cc engine from the new Himmy to an updated version of the Scram. A local RE leader said that Scram411 is going out of production.
You failed to mention that the stock suspension, despite its adjustment limitations, held up great to all the abuse you put it through. I've seen other videos that praises the front ABS system on dirt, didn't hear you mention anything about that. RE is one of those great stories about how an anthusiastic 26 year old CEO can turn around a falling ompany or Kowe where a dedicated young man can produce a fantastic Rally bike.
I grew up on TS185/DT125LC's & enjoyed them v.much. Those days will never return so then liked XT350 or even XR125L. I think lightweight tail bikes is a much missed niche that provided: commuters, weekend fun bikes (long B4 supermoto) for the poor like me. I even think the generation B4 had the right idea with old BSA's that with different tyres shocks, handlebars, mudguards could do TT, work & dirt. My first off road 4T ride was a '70's CB200 with no mudguards/silencers & a massive rear sprocket . On of the happiest off road rides of my life. BTW I have CR500 & TS250 in the shed so not a complete pu55y. Oh yes enjoyed the vid.
Man!! I’m a rash rider really rash. But the way you were riding the bike in those trails it was courageous 🫡 🫡 one need guts to ride like that! You’re the really great rider bro
I got it narrowed down between the Himalayan 450 and the CFMoto 450 IBEX. I’m coming from a BMW 1200GS and Husqvarna 701. I’m 75 and need a lower lighter bike.
Impressive footage and like how you gave her the beans ;) That is exactly what I reasonate to as a Himi 411 owner. Mightly potential when taking her in Enduro Territory and you can ride her to work too the next day for the whole week and resume enduro the same weekend with nothing else but a different riding gear setup. Its too much fun on the Himis.
The royal Enfield is a great option in my options for buying some beginner adventure bikes. The only problem is the nearest dealer is a few hundred KM away from me lol.
Absolute madman! 🤣 Cool bikes tho, I knew someone that had an Enfield, one of them classic looking ones 20 years ago, it was new then so it was not a real classic but it looked like one, I always liked that thing, just looked so cool. Think it had like 25 hp or something, 350 cc maybe? I cant remember but it was neat!
watching you video is awesome ,wanted to hit the mud though I don't own a himi , I washed my bike in the morning it was like my bike was looking at me saying don't you dare 🤣🤣
I own a Himalayan and I had taken the same for off-roading during the monsoon and quite surprised with its performance. I have given the link of vedio of my ride above
It felt bouncy on that track . The suspension does not seem to be top notch, which is ok for the price point it comes at . The question is how good is the after market support and how good is the engine : would it last the old himi.
I own a RE, and have always seen the Himi as the ugly duckling of their lineup, with the Idea this model had cronic frame snapping issues. I guess the new model doesn't have that issue given the footage. Might try one once It arrives here.
Do you think that this is a good tenere 700 repleace for someone who is an intermediate offroad rider to bust the confidence? t7 is an amazing bike but sometimes it feel to heavy to powerfull and im looking for something to repleace it and go riding without fear , himalayan and cfmoto 450 check all the boxes but im also afraid to feel sorry to sell my t7 What do you think ?
Don't bother about any issues you hear from India. I am Indian and people here put all sorts of untested aftermarket crap and/or overload the bikes then complain. Only few credible journos from India who are credible. Rest are youtubers who have absolutely no clue about anything.
I have to say somehow they made the 450 look worse than the 350. At least the 350 had that cool retro inspired style, but this just looks like the most bland thing ever. Sad because I was interested in a Hilmalayan with a bit more power.
Indians (youtubers) just create unnecesssary drama. Compared to the KTM 390 adv, I find the Him 450 far smoother. There is little buzz, which is to be expected from a 450cc single. It's nothing to be worried about. Same with the idiotic "Chassis broke" videos you see. Look at Chris or any other from an international market who are properly thrashing these bikes and nothing happens but touring guys in India who use aftermarket accessories complain about the quality of the bike. Dont listen to most Indian youtubers. They have absolutely no clue what they are talking about nor do they have any expertise in it. Unfortunately social media has given a voice to everyone and people follow these so called influencers blindly. I'm Indian so I know what is being done here. If any, just stick with listening to guys like Schumi and Karthikeya from Motorinc or Sagar Sheldekar. Don't bother with anyone else.
I did a small testride and I can tell you that most of the range is smooth, but there is certain mid-high range of RPM where it suddenly starts buzzing (around 6-8k), but most of the time I've been below 6k, there's plenty of power there. And also there's some more range above 8k.
