He was alive for two days before visiting Dante. In those 48 hours he got a very extensive tattoo and a full hot topic get-up. These were human Vergil's priorities.
I get a chuckle out of the "...Just kidding." added after that. V is Vergil's humanity, so saying he's only 2 days old is him saying Vergil wasn't very humane up until this point where he's separated from his demon. He's acknowledging exactly how much he's made (and will soon make) Dante and friends suffer. So it's a joke at his own expense lol
Air fryers are mid, I can cook potatoes. Yay. Literally only reason I have them. I be making sausage casserole whilst cooking potatoes. I feel like V now. I have the air fryer ,pan and slow cooker. I'm unstoppable.
When I saw the trailer was back around the same time that I was updating myself on the newest installments of dmc. I was already reeling in rage from the “DMC” with dark haired dante trying to worm its way and failing and then seeing a character who _looks_ kinda like dante along side him (not aware it was nero or even knowing his BG), when I saw V i just threw up my hands and decided I wasn’t coming back for a bit. Bc all I knew was that he looked like an antagonist, and then I skimmed that he wasn’t which confused me more as I was hard on only dante being the PC. While I kinda regret judging it so harshly, it’s probably good I didn’t give it a chance until recently. Especially since I’d be comparing it to the “DMC” ver and hating the idea that they wanted to make someone other than dante as the PC. Judging from how DMC5 turned out, it’s a lot better than I could’ve hoped for, but one of those things where you can’t accept it bc of how different it is from what you’re used to atm.

to be fair, this theme works in game when youre fighting and hypes you up but outside of that, it just cant stand on its own like bury the light. like anyone - even those who dont like metal - can listen to bury the light and enjoy it. i still like v’s theme though but thats because i like this type of music

I don’t care what anyone says, V is one of the coolest characters in the dmc series in my opinion. His play style, character and story were all interesting and unique. Even if he did do something questionable weather it was a good thing or bad thing he’s still a great character.
Absolutely agree. V is hella fucking cool and I hope as many others say that Capcom bullshit his existence back into the story (other than being a vergil attack). I guess they learnt their lesson with Nero from dmc4 and dmc donte lol.
There is definitely going to be some kind of expansion. The games graphics are insane, new graphics cards are coming out. Probably going to optimize an expansion for Ray Tracing.
DMC generally rocks that. Dante is a half-demon orphan with a penchant for wielding weapons made from the souls of demons he defeats, and has an antagonistic long-lost brother.
"Don't worry, I'll be gentle." They already knew what was going to happen. Capcom made V say that, aware of the "V thirst wave" that it would have caused Definitely game of the year
A month, actually. The moment he met Dante, He's two days old (Which is funny, because he recites a part of William Blake's Infant Joy that states his literal age). During the whole mission, he's about a month old.
@GAMER/OTAKU yeah, when people heard these words in the song months ago, a popular fan theory came up that predicted it. nice touch of the song makers :p

Until you reach DMD--then he and his summons go down in a fight about as fast as you would expect from someone suffering the last stages of demon leprosy.
V actually named him Urizen. V tells Dante and Nero his name is Urizen. When Nero meets Urizen in mission 8, he said he has no name. Urizen could be a reference to "The Book of Urizen" where Urizen threw away his humanity in order to enslave and rule over earth.
I know I’m really late but it could also have something to do with his familiars. There’s a spin-off manga called Visions of V in which we see the chain of events from his “birth” to his “death”. In it, we learn that there were actually four memories but only three became familiars. Here’s how I see it: Savior: Griffon. He is the one who saves V from Urizen initially by carrying him away Bloodstain: Phantom. It was a huge spider creature that ended up being killed because it refused to cooperate with V. Hellfire: Nightmare. The strongest of the bunch and the most unpredictable Shadow: Shadow… that one is pretty self-explanatory.
> How S ranking Urizen as V feels Urizen: H-how did you get so much power? V: I read poetry all day yesterday. Urizen: OH, YOU THINK YOU'RE BEING CUTE?!! V: Bitch I'm adorable.
@@BiblichorLiebert Nope. They are manifestations of Vergil's nightmares as Nelo Angelo. They are true demons, though, due to their nightmare-ish nature, they will die if they don't make a contract. Griffon made a contract with V to survive. Shadow was convinced to. Nightmare was forced to, as he's a mass of pure nightmare fuel with no thoughts. Phantom simply refused to cooperate with a human, so he died.

@@19HajimeSaitou91 that's what i like about v character he's portrayed as this guy who isn't powerful yet gets far by sheer will alone and fights demons anyway
Best thing that I love about this song, it all eludes to V's birth, the events within DMC5, and Vergil's humanity. It's like a poem as a song. In fact, I think I've deciphered just about every lyric: Savior, Bloodstain, Hellfire, Shadow! (Savior either refers to either Nero or the Yamato, because Nero ended up saving V and bringing him to Vergil thus saving V/Vergil and the Yamato is what was used to save Vergil from dying, at the risk of discarding his humanity. Bloodstain either refers to the pool of blood Vergil left Nero in when tearing his arm off, or the blood staining Yamato when Vergil stabbed himself. Hellfire is the hellfire the surrounded Vergil when he started transforming into Urizen, and shadow is the shadow of Urizen that cascades itself over V and the family portrait) Heaven on a Landslide! (referring to the urgency of the situation, and how Urizen is a devil of such power and "motivation" that he will essentially topple the heavens (much like we see in the illusion when Urizen bites the apple, eventually the sky shatters like glass). If you have to ask, it's too late! Somewhere in-between, your character grace! An eye on fantasy, touching nails! Sparks fly, off of me and on to you! (Refers to how people keep asking who V is, and that it is too late for an answer as he needs to keep his identity hidden to return to Urizen. It also states how V is somewhere in between Vergil's trauma and lust for power, the "grace" of Vergil's humanity that he keeps buried. It also elaborates on how V /Vergil was an artisan once, having "an eye on fantasy" / poetry, and touching his nails to instruments such as a violin as V shows in his emote. It also refers to how sparks flew from V and onto Vergil when they were separated (just as Vergil turned into Urizen). Brothers in the dark, fight for your life! Devils in the dark, fight for your life! (Beautifully references how Dante and Vergil are feuding over their life's purpose. The two of them have always stood in the way of the other's happiness/life goal. Dante fights because he loves humanity, yet Vergil has threatened them time and time again. Vergil on the other hand fights because Dante has always stopped Vergil from achieving his "destiny" of inheriting/surpassing the power of the devil Sparda. It also may refer to how their devil halves are also at war/opposites, as Dante's is constantly being denied and rejected while Vergil's is embraced and idolized.) Devil in my blood, living on the edge! Split myself in two, death is all around! Summoning the power, drag myself through pain! Blood spills, off of me and onto you! (Refers to Vergil's pride in being a half-devil, and how he split himself in two. It then refers to the literal death of countless humans Urizen causes with the Qliphoth tree. Next it refers to how Urizen summons the power of the blood fruit to try and take over the underworld & earth, unknowingly dragging himself and his humanity through pain and possible destruction. Finally, it refers to how Urizen's blood is spilled onto Dante as he is stabbed and brought to near death on the ground.) Crimson Cloud! Evening the score! (Refers to the moment of truth, where Urizen is lying on the ground and Vergil stands on top of him. If you look carefully you can see a bloody mist or fog surrounding the two of them, and a red rift in the sky. It then refers to Vergil's inevitable return, and the desire to even the score between him and Dante.) SO, this song is beautiful and it all eludes to the truth behind the mystery of V and the final confrontation of the game.
That's some pretty insane detail. I found something similar for Bury the Light, relating to V similarly ofc. Mainly in the build up before the instrumental leading to the Bury the Light main chorus. "Beyond the tree, fire burns" indicates how the outside thr qulipoth tree containing Urizen himself, Dante's fire burns as both him and his Sin Devil Trigger awakens. I suppose it could also be referencimg Nero's Red Queen sword and the fire within him emotionally. "Serect love, Bloodline yearns" is a clear nod to the fact that Vergil does actually care for Nero and even though Vergil and Dante fight, the brotherly bond will never dissappear, even if they are different people as V, his humanity, ends up working with Dante too. The mention of bloodline yearns is a reference to Nero wanting to have more power/strength to protect the ones he loves. "Dark minds embrace, Crimson joy" shows both the embrace of V and Urizen as they become Vergil as Crimson joy references both V's theme song as Crimson Cloud but also the requirement of blood (a crimson liquid) for Urizen. "Does your dim heart heal or destroy?" is a very interesting line as it actually gives the player a choice. I think it relates to the fact that you can actually kill Urizen in the Prologue. It's stated that if Urizen died there, everyone lives happily ever after, this is the destruction route. On the other hand, if Nero loses to Urizen in the Prologue, it results in V/Urizen healing themselves by becoming Vergil on the verge of both their deaths and that the relationship between Dante and Vergil does start to heal as they go together, as brothers to fight both at each others side but also against each other as they ways have. There are many other lines in Bury The Light which I think are very interesting but those are my favourite lyrics that hold important symbolism.
@@kilzfordays good analysis, I also love "I am reclaimer of my name" as refference both to becoming himself from V and Urizen but also from Nelo Angelo (Especially that this was the first time Vergil lost his name)
I also wanna point out in poetry repeating something makes it more important. It draws attention to it and disrupts the momentum the poem otherwise had, making you stop and look at that part. Thus repeating stuff makes it more important.
Nah bro the Savior Bloodstain Hellfire Shadow is every main character. Savior(Nero as you said correct) Bloodstained(Vergil, having savcrifed everything for obsession) Hellfire(Dante, for obvious reasons) Shadow(V because he is a shadow of Vergil's former self(he also uses funny shadows))
Yo, bro, are you sure you're ok? You sound a little insecure... No need to hate a franchise when you can simply ignore it. Hell, I'm not even a DMC player, let alone a fan in the first place! Besides, if you really have to tell everybody about your hate, at least do it with valid points, no?
@@tehrndm yeah but if you dont like it... why are you here in the first place? shouldnt you have clicked off the video minutes ago, realizing what it was?
V, how to make Vergil playble without having fans realising it and how to confirm all the expectative theories about the plot of the game. Capcom was brilliant with that.
Me: Mom, can we have a Vergil? Mom: We already have a Vergil at home. Vergil at home: "You may call me V." Me: "Y'know what...yeah, I'm fine with this."
Really gonna miss V in any future DMC games. He was such a great addition to the series. EDIT: Well I guess Special Edition and the Vergil DLC found a way to have him come back as a part of Vergil. That’s actually a really good way to handle it.
Well they could make him like part of vergil's psyche, like he's the only one who can see him and they banter and argue with urizen popping in every once in a while
I hope V's summon companions come back as new powered up summons with Vergil later in the series. It'd be a nice little nod to the fans that V truly does still live on through Vergil. :3
I love the fact that there was a character named "V" in this game when the letter V is actually the number five in Roman Numerals. Nice little Easter egg
Yeah they did in, wait for it, street fighter V when the villian had a bunch of Vs all over him. And of course the villian in this game has a bug stinking V in his transformed state.
Also, Romans didn't refer to V as "Five" in the monarchy age, but as "Fifth" , later in the republican age it did. Hence why today one should refer to an Arabian number as a scalar/cardinal number and to a Roman number as an Ordinal number. Yeah, I just bugged everyone with a little lesson on why we should call this game Devil May Cry *Fifth*.

He's as much of that stereotype as Dante was the tryhard anime swordsman, in that while they are to a degree they make it work by also being these lovable dorks on the inside.

1:25 This part hits so damn hard, mostly because the vocals are so filled with anger, but mixed with a bit of desperation. Fits V like Oakley gloves on a Marine.
Felt the same way. Was kinda sad he was used solely for Vergil's character growth but hey, here's to hoping some day in the future that Vergil will become a pro-neutral to protagonist in future games.
I was honestly upset that he wasn't really his own character. Like the twist was cool but now we won't see him again unless DMC5 was the ending of the series.
There is a chance we might get more V content. If you hack the game to play as him during the Vergil boss fight, he does a unique finisher on Vergil once you depleted his health.
I'm pretty sure Capcom could find a way to bullshit V back into the story. Nero does need an actual fighting sidekick, just not Nico. And the Sons of Sparda timeline is essentially over now.
Burg Bass Easy. Just like how Mundus created Trish, Vergil can "create" V. Given that they both ate from Qullipoth to gain more power, they both could do something like that.

There is a official spin-off manga called Visions of V that tell the story of V before the game, which explain better V and Vergil's motive and according to the manga gosh this song is pretty spot on
