There is a guy in the background to DP's left shoulder that obviously despises Gachagua. His facial expressions tells it all. Though the new DP seems a little rough on the edges, I am starting to really appreciate him. He is frank and straight shooter. He tells it as it is. Kenya needs this kind of leader. Also, he provide job security for comedians.

To protect and help the “club” Uhuru shrewdly avoided campaigning for “his brother” Raila in the mount Kenya region. He cleverly handed the region to Ruto. The “club” is KANU that Moi once said will rule for 100 years. So far, every President has had KANU blood in their political veins.

Moi came from abject poverty-worse than Ruto; so was Kibaki-all poor village boys. Ruto’s glorification of poverty or village-hood is a political strategy that fooled many people and worked very well for his votes and himself. His family is already a dynasty and by the time he exits State House, his family will most likely rank #3 as one the richest families in Kenya after that of Kenyatta and Moi’s. Rigathi is a good campaigner but he surely has a long way to go as far as national leadership is concerned... This speech is irrelevant especially before foreign heads of state. Right now a wise leader will be focussing on national cohesion, let's not forget that 50% of Kenyans did not vote for our president.
I thought we have gone beyond this. Very bad. He spoiled the purpose of the occasion. An incumbent government is handing over to same party. Despite the drama during the campaign and the position of Uhuru, this speech is simply out of order. We preach unity and not divisiveness at this point. We need political maturity in African politics. His speech seem like campaign. But this is inauguration.
