Wonderful watching this video of the horses being driven, it looks like it takes a lot of skill to do this. I don’t think I could do it myself so I will be content to watch. Every day more healing for Yvonne til she can pick up the reins to her life free of noise in her head and eye problems. I hope it is soon, I will keep her in my prayers.💜✝💜

Found this channel a few months ago by accident, it was a lucky day, I think. I was falling in love with horses the first time when I visited a horse show in Celle (Germany), where the stud of the Hanoverian horses is located. The 4 year old me was deeply impressed, and to learn how to ride was the dream of my entire childhood. It never came true, unfortunately. Today I'm a woman >50, with a severe health problem. Sometimes it's not easy to stay strong and not to fear the future... but watching your videos, with the daily routines, the personalities of the horses - the whole atmosphere in and around the stable helps me a lot to find my peace of mind. Sounds a bit weird, I guess, that watching you at work for me is calming. However, I enjoy every minute! Thank you, and keep going!

Hi, Elke R! Welcome to this site. Many of us find comfort in Yvonne's wonderful videos. There was a video almost every day last year, and I always looked forward to it. Don't know how she does it with two young sons. There are also many older videos which are wonderful! Nice to meet you!
I totally agree. At 76, I have mobility issues. However when I watch the videos it makes me forget my aches and pains. I think because Yvonne and all the crew are so calm and gentle with all the animals it makes it a pleasure to watch. Thank you for all you do. ☺️

Frieda (with her lovely wiggle) has no better partner than Uniek to learn how this gets done. I love hearing Rein talk to the horses as he drives. I have no idea what he is saying, but I hear the tone of his voice, and so do the horses. It's great seeing little Rein in these videos, another generation of horse lover in the making. What (and where) could be better?
I may have the only Black Labrador Service Dog born and raised in the USA who understands those two expressions/words in Friesian!! I tried it one day when it was a nasty day and neither of us was too happy. Anyway he came to give me a hug and I said "Goed zo Skip, Goed zo!" He started wagging his whole body and giving me dog kisses!! When he's extra good or brave I'll say, "Brav, Doodles, Brav!" You'd think he'd been given the highest praise in his life!! He's been praised and loved on since the day he was rescued and became my baby at 1 yr old. Some monster had been tying him up and shooting him with real bullets - just to torture him. I thank God every day for Crystal rescuing him and trusting me with my precious Sweet Boy!! "Goed zo, Brav forever Skip♥"

I've seen some colts sold that being the first time they were separated from the mare. Both the mother and colt are too upset at this first and last separation. This was a colt we bought and he kept trying to jump out of the stall - it was more of a "pen" than a stall and in trying to jump over, his front legs were stuck hanging from the knee because he was too small to jump out. His legs had to be taken down so I stayed all night with him in the barn and he didn't try to jump out again - also it was a great way to bond with him. His mother was kicking the inside of the trailer and could only be distracted for a moment before she started kicking again. So it's wonderful to see the colts get used to their mothers being away for a bit of time. All your animals are calm and happy. It's a pleasure and joy to watch your videos and how you explain EVerything 😍 In some old American western movies you'll see a six team of FREISANS, by pairs, hitched to a stagecoach. These horses are in the movies and not as well kept as your herd. We are trying to bring FREISAN HORSES back to the USA, as they were actually "extinct" for awhile - they are not a native American horse but so well tempered I don't understand how we ever let them go!!! Reintje and Richtsje looked like they enjoyed their shower after being ridden 😍😍. Frieda looks like she's doing really well in the cart and, along with Uniek, looked like the enjoyed the watersplash 😍😍. Guessing that it was a hot day! Shirley and Pjirkje looked really good together too 😍😍.
I love Minze Teije! He is very special, can we petition Rein to keep him around as long as possible? I know it’s hard in a stable full of mares. Great to see Uniek being such a wonderful mentor to Frieda. 💕 They make a good pair in front of the cart, manes and all! 🖤🖤
KazzyPop, I love Minze Teije too. He's so cute and seems to be very sweet. When Sanne Aukje was sold to a nearby farm she had a colt, Meint. I'm hoping that he and MT will grow up together! Happy New Year!
I can see that the foals are maturing more and more, and I'm curious to know how you can tell that they are completely ready to be weaned? Is it always right after they turn a year old or do you wait to see if the mare begins to try to wean before separating them? I've been wondering.
Forever Unashamed This video was filmed over the summer when the foals were still with their moms but all 4 have since been weaned. They are usually weaned around 5-6 months old and the mares will also begin to push them away and not allow them to drink as often when they’ve had enough of sharp teeth,then that’s when the team will decide to begin separating them,there are several videos from last year u can watch with the now yearlings where Yvonne explains more about how the team goes about the weaning process,she didn’t do un updated version of this because she didn’t have as much time;during the time the 4 babies were weaned Yvonne was still at home with little Teije.
Marie Pascale Rinske aka Friesian Horses Buddy is one of the team members who works at the stable along with Yvonne she also does a lot of the filming when Yvonne herself isn’t doing that,Ritchsje & Reintje are 2 of the horses you would’ve seen in a previous video after being ridden by Rinske & Yvonne;Reintje’s the 2nd horse (&second love) who Yvonne spends the most time with & riding after Queen Uniek who’s her horse(Yvonne’s)Reintje & Yvonne do dressage competitions together just like Uniek & Yvonne did years ago.It can be a bit confusing at first because it’s tradition at Stal Goengamieden to name horses after the staff as well as people associated with the stable and their families some examples are Reintje who was named after Rein who you see here driving the horses,colt Minze Teije is named after Yvonne’s baby son Teije,fillies Mathilde,Gea & Geertje are all named after the other team members as well. There was also Rinske the mare but she was sold last year & filly Lianne is named in honor of intern & my sweet friend Elianne and there was also Yvonne the mare but she was also sold there is a picture in the community section of human Yvonne visiting her namesake at her owners home.

I laughed when you said you were giving Uniek her privacy! And I got the feeling Uniek was helping to teach Frieda how to pull the wagon. Was she pushing in a bit towards Frieda while they were trotting? Looked like she was helping to guide her. But my head might have just made up that story!
I watched a second time focusing on Uniek and Frieda on the grounds and through the water. Frieda is still learning and hesitant and you can clearly see Uniek's strength and power from the rear driving and setting/keeping the pace. No wonder The Queen was a bit tired she was doing most of the work in this pair.
Team driving really shows the difference an experienced horse can make with training. Not just in harness, but in other frightening situations as well.

Busy day! I love how Uniek taught Frieda, wow, no stopping when Frieda hesitated. I'm wondering if it takes a mare longer to recover from the workout when she is pregnant.
Even though it is in the 40’s here in NY, the mares being rinsed looked so refreshing. lol! Uniek and Frieda looked so lovely together. Rein, Jr. is so helpful. I adore Mathilde. She will be beautiful when she grows up. Saly is also very sweet. And of course, I love Uniek.

Uniek is a good mentor for the other horses - she's well trained, calm, confident, and doesn't have a bad relationship with any of the other horses. I'm so glad she can stay.

Uniek is a powerful horse at 16! Young Frieda could not have a better teacher. What a job the Queen had teaching the youngster, no wonder she was pooped!
