It's interesting that the majority of responses seem to be favorable towards the president even though the opinion stated by the analysis seems very negative. I've been watching the commentary given on several networks to get a more diverse picture and the comments are more pro than con with the public but more con with the political reporters. Interesting

This man Trump is giving all this speech without looking on a piece of paper prepared for him by someone. He is not using political jargon to confuse the people. He is raw, natural and to the points. I was never interested in politics but since this man came to the scene, I follow and see the resistance against him. I'm so tired of winning. MAGA and Keep America Great! The 1980s were definitely different times. Reagan had less outward hostility from the Democrats than what Trump faces here in 2019. Comparing Trump's SOTU message with Reagan's, I decided to make this post because some people have posted wondering about it. I do feel Reagan's humor was much more developed - perhaps with his talents and a style he learned from the show business world. But looking at the two - Reagan vs Trump, I would rank both about equal in actual speaking ability with Trump actually seeming to be superior because he stood tall despite the Leftist opposition. Trump has a unique ability to reach people and a unique poise as well. There was hardly the applause for Trump versus Reagan at just about every point. But there is no denying how much Trump has really accomplished in such amazing fashion e.g. economy, trade deals, refurbished the military, etc - and in such a short time - and yet the Democrats today gave much less applause overall to Trump than Reagan in his time. Trump's charisma is perhaps even greater than Reagan's given he carried the day so well - with such positive criticism ratings afterward - with his SOTU facing the huge partisan opposition of today's Progressives. I realize this comment will not be popular with Reagan supporters. While there may never be in my opinion such a President as Reagan who could combine humor with message to raving reception, Trump I believe will be remembered as at least as great or greater than Reagan when it's all said and done.
