I can relate to the story. I had a crush on my friend in high school. I'm still friends with her. But it just we drifted apart. I always wondered "what if". I'm just glad that we were friends and that we had all this time together as friends. I wouldn't change it for the world. Sometimes you may love your friends but sometimes you have to let them go. Let them live their own lives. It's rough but sometimes you have to do what's best for you

OP WAS CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT HER BOYFRIEND NOW HUSBAND WAS STANDOFFISH WHEN OP AND HIS GIRLFRIEND INVITED THEM OUT! GOING SO FAR AS TO START DISAGREEMENTS. OP STATED THAT HE HAD READ HOW IMPORTANT THE HONEYMOON AND FOLLOWING THE BEGINNING MONTHS OF THEIR MARRIAGE HOW HE DIDN’T WANT TO CAUSES ISSUES BETWEEN THEM! SHE WAS ALSO KEEPING HER DISTANCE THEN OP’S FATHER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ALZHEIMER’S HE EVEN DEBATED SHARING THE SITUATION WITH HER DECIDING HE DIDN’T WANT TO BURDEN OR IMPOSE ON AN ALREADY VOLATILE COUPLE WANTING TO RESPECT HIS FRIEND’S PREDICAMENT! AFTER SHE TOLD HIM SHE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN HIM ROMANTICALLY, WHICH I THINK SHE ISN’T BEING ENTIRELY HONEST ABOUT HER FEELINGS! THIS IS EVIDENT WHEN OP TELLS HER HE IS MOVING WHERE UPON SHE CALLS HIM BEGGING HIM NOT TO LEAVE! IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO MENTION THAT HER HUSBAND MISLEAD HER INTO BELIEVING THAT HE HAD THE SAME INTERESTS. AFTER THE WEDDING HE DROPS HIS FACADE TURNING INTO A JEALOUS CONTROLLING JERK TURNING HER INTO A NERVOUS PROBABLY FRIGHTENED MEEK SHELL OF HER FORMER SELF! OP WAS TOTALLY RIGHT ABOUT HER SO CALLED HUSBAND BEING A QUESTIONABLE MANIPULATIVE DISHONEST DECEITFUL DISGUSTING LOWLIFE! BEING CONCERNED AND LOYAL FOR HIS BEST FRIEND OP STAYED AWAY WHILE TRYING TO MAINTAIN SOME CONTACT TO MAKE SURE SHE WAS SAFE THAT HE’D BE ABLE TO COME TO HER RESCUE IF HIS SUSPICIONS WERE VALID. THINK OF HOW HE’D FEEL HORRIBLY GUILTY IF ANYTHING DETRIMENTAL HAPPENED TO HIS CLOSE DEAR FRIEND! HE WAS SIMPLY TRYING TO BE RESPONSIBLE AS A TRUE FRIEND!
Dude you need to walk away, I don’t have close girl friends just like my wife doesn’t have close guy friends, that’s totally uncool! When you say IDo, you forsake all others and cling to your mate, that’s how marriage works !
Isolation because you're married is kind of gross. But when you're close to a friend like this you need to as a person step away from it. I don't agree with isolation of people just because you're married. As a person that's looking in you need to step away from people that are like this. It's less drama. If I ran across a couple like this that had to forsake all others before their mates fragile ego. I would forsake my own friendship and tell her to get lost. Nobody has time for mind games from Married spouses
@@Justin-A-Carterthat’s not isolation. It’s respect. Not being alone or having overly close relationships with people of the opposite sex while married or in a relationship is called respecting your partner. Isolation would be refusing to let her talk to male coworkers or people in the store
@@SirBitingBen you can call it what it is. But it is isolation. And if you don't trust your partner around other people of the opposite sex. You have no business being married. It's called trust issues. If you think well enough of your partner to marry them. You need to first off trust them . If you don't trust them then you don't have a relationship. If you can't trust them then you need to get out of that relationship
My husband and I have been together for over 20 years and we each have really good friends of the opposite sex. I don't see a problem with it and neither does my husband and all these people that are against having friends of the opposite sex are pretty much wrong, in my opinion anyways.
Sorry OP. You want your cake and eat it too. Life doesn't work that way. Other half should be reserved for your girlfriend. It's selfish of you to hold on to your female best friend while having a girlfriend. It's logical for both your girlfriend and your best friend's boyfriend to get jealous. I guess you are not ready to grow up yet.
