Fr. I've listened to a lot of these. And I mean a lot, and I was having a hard time following. Especially when op kept bringing up how she "messed up" or "did something stupid" I legit though I had somehow missed something

So glad I'm not alone. I think sometimes people don't add context that an outsider might need? Especially about the relationships involved since they seem pretty convoluted what with adoptions and multiple step families. The mom definitely has some issues but the fact that some of the things she does are backed up by other family members makes me question if there's more behind the scenes. OP could've had a psychiatrist before they did what they did (probably a suicide attempt but maybe self harm) for "regular" reasons, but to do something so drastic over a break up, and the way a lot of other family members were so controlling makes me think that OP might have had some other serious issues beforehand. Everyone not wanting her to go to the same school as her boyfriend seems especially odd, unless they maybe knew he was the kind of guy who would dump a girl the second the relationship is inconvenient (which is a fair decision to make, but can still be hurtful) or maybe she had some sort of issue with a guy that they were worried would repeat (whether the victim or the perpetrator), so they would've disliked almost any school he went to, especially since they went as far as saying they'd talk to his parents and force a breakup. There's a lot more confusing stuff, like she says her mom abandoned her, but I feel like since OP seems to have a good relationship with her dad, if her mom took her with her, she may have instead had resentment at being taken away from dad. I don't think OP really mentions how much contact she had with her mom during that time, or how long it lasted. Custody overall seems to not really be talked about, even her living with step grandparents for an extended time. I wish someone could summarize this post a little better, as I understand the big events (fights, reconilation attempts, OP doing smth bad, therapy, etc) but I have a lot of trouble understanding where most of the issues come from, just like how OP calls her mom weird I think the entire post is really weird.
