Does THAT matter? Rachel is a GROWN Woman who tried stabbing a pregnant woman. I lm infertile and suffer from PTSD and bipolar 2. Guess what I never attempted during my friends pregnancy? It was sad but no one deserved to die bc I couldn't have kids. As an adult she could have gotten help before losing it. I'm sympathetic for mental health but it's no excuse for letting attempted murder or worse just slide.
Yeah i wouldnt be dropping charges at all. Her having a miscarriage doesnt excuse her vile behavior. Shed be in jail right after getting out of the hospital.
Do NOT drop the charges. Just because she was in deep depression doesn't excuse that she took a freaking knife and tried to harm op. She's the one that should have opened up to her husband and dealt with her feelings rather than let it boil to the point she tried to kill op and the baby. Any family that says otherwise can butt off. Update, yep. Knew it was an ambush to pressure op and her husband to drop the charges. Yeah, she has anxiety and depression plus it's great that she's getting help. But, again, it doesn't excuse the fact what she tried to do to op. People like them have got to stop making excuses and face reality. Same with Rachel being pregnant, that doesn't give her a pass to not face consequences. Well, a plea deal is actually a good compromise since op doesn't get to drop the charges. Your not being too harsh. It's on her for letting her anxiety get the best of her towards where she's close to losing the baby. She's scared of the consequences but she should have thought of that before she tried to harm op. Update 2, glad the baby is healthy. I guess it couldn't be helped that the charges were withdrawn but good on op for and Sam for having terms placed.
It crappy no on cares about the mental health issues the attempted stabbing her but wants the world to bow down for SILs issues. I'm now 35 and have 3 amazing adopted kids and 2 fosters we are getting ready to adopt.
Why would you let Rachel see much less hold a baby she tried to kill before she could come into this world? I feel like this was a mistake. They offered that baby up like a sacrificial lamb because "family". Damn that. Be empathetic at a distance. I'll bet the update in a year will have Rachel trying to kidnap that baby for herself. Smh.
Regardless of SIL getting treatment I would never let my guard down. She has serious mental issues and could relapse at any stage. Best to be safe than sorry
I’m so confused? SIL found out multiple days before the said “baby shower” that she HERSELF was also with child. Then at the baby shower, SIL exploded in emotions attempting to stab OP because “this is all so unfair” and how she was more deserving of being a mother (even though she was already aware of her own pregnancy). Somehow her bad mental health and crazy pregnancy hormones warped her brain into either forgetting that fact or she just really hated OP being pregnant before she was.

I'm going to stop listening to these foolish stories, they all have a happy, " lets seek therapy" endings. The endings are so stupid, regardless of the issue how can you allow a woman who tried to kill you hold your child. The OP of these stories are so soft, for example " my DAD SAed me" ending of the story " " my therapist said I should meet my dad and get closure, 6 months later our relationship is building and we are getting closer" like what?!?!?
They should have dropped the charges when they found out that Rachel was pregnant because to much stress like that could’ve made her have a miscarriage there kinda to blame for her miscarriage because of the stress they put on her I’m not saying that what she did was right I’m saying that the charges should have been dropped until she gave birth or at least put one hold *Ik this is fake*

So they're being disrespectful to the person and not helpful. There's a reason why "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" is a golden rule.
