Actually, it's not whitening, but brightening. These are two different types because we live in tropical, hot and humid areas where all the dust and pollution will stick. So the standard of beauty here is how smooth, shiny, radiant your skin is. You don't want your skin to look super dry and people might think you haven't showered in 2 days haha
Hi from Bulgaria, the steak is still reasonable, the chicken is half than Bulgaria, and the local stuff is pennies. Ivana looks very happy to be home, travelling is great and so is going home from time to time. Indonesia looks great

In Serbia, the majority suffers from being darker. They go to solariums, sunbathe, tan with creams. And in Indonesia it is the other way around. haha interesting. Very good video.
Yeah, Serbia is same like Canada! Actually, once I heard a guy complimenting a woman here in Indonesia: he said 'wow, your skin is very fair!' I thought oh in Canada that wouldn't be a compliment lol. Very interesting to see the different standard of beauty
@@JetLagWarriors Back in the middle ages even in Europe pale skin was considered noble and tanned skin was a sign of belonging to the lower class- bc those had to work on the fields and were exposed to the sun.... Nobility (for example in Spain the lower Hidalgo nobility class) were proud of them being exempted from having to work and pay taxes. This changed with the age of industrialazation where paleness began to be associated with bad living conditions and disease such as the English disease (Rachitism [Rickets] due to Vitamin D deficiency ) and often associated with that Tuberculosis (especially in working children/youth who diddn't see sunlight for months or years) So this is when the tanned skin color began to be seen as a sign of health and weatlh.

I went to Croatia and I couldn't believe my eyes when I found Indomie made in..... Serbia!!. I knew there are factories in Nigeria and Middle East (I think Saudi Arabia) but I didn't know about Europe factory. Plus it's also halal certified..
Now you make me miss my own country even more 🥺 Been living in the state for about a year now and I can't stop thinking about Indonesian food and supermarket (and price!!!) 😂
Correction, Pocari Sweat is a Japanese product and funny thing is just like the name it taste like sweat which is salty. We have a local product similar to this called Oralit and its used for rehydration and mineral intake during and after diarrhea. The reason westerners doesn't really know Pocari is because they refuse to have a direct confrontation for the same market with Gatorade, hence they expand towards Asia.
14:15 actually in Indonesia today any chicken farm are forbidden to use hormonal drugs, so the plump meat of the chicken are probably just from feed, since chicken farm have selective about the feed (like giving feed additive to increasing appetite, vitamins, etc.) also the timing for the butchering when the chicken are still on peak growth (not too old, and not too young).
21:00 to add more, there's no pepsi because their contract with Indonesia already expired, but iirc last month (september 2023) Indonesia renewed the contract for pepsi, so probably we will see it on the market soon.
18:28 Chitato's parent company Indofood bought Frito Lay, Doritos & Lay's producer, and so they can't use Doritos & Lay's brand until 2024 (CMIIW). They rebranded them as Maxicorn (formerly Doritos) and Chitato LITE (formerly Lay's). You found Chitato LITE there :D 20:59 Pepsico retreated from Indonesia in 2019, but they have announced a comeback this year.. what do you think? 😆
You guys are already advantaged because one of you already speaks the local language. Thanks so much for sharing, have really enjoyed seeing you shop for products foreign to me,even some of the fruits I have never seen in European supermarkets. Have fun and stay safe.
The reason why fruits like Jambu air and dragon fruit are tasteless/bland is because they're picked before ripe. Some fruits like banana and mango are able to become sweeter as days go by after picked, but some other fruits cant. If you able to get to taste dragonfruit that ripe naturally, you'll be seriously amazed. The flavor is absolutely fresh and sweet
Just returned from Surabaya. Surprised that the mini mart cost of items is the same as the Supermarkets. In our country its usually triple price or more,i supose for the convenience and late opening hours
For the dragon fruit that you said tasteless and no texture, most probably you tried the white color. Try the red dragon fruit. It has much taste. Texture wise much the same but the taste much sweet and watery.
You should try visiting my place at Ujung Genteng Beach, Sukabumi. There you can enjoy beaches like Hawaii and I hope you visit because I am always happy to see you as a wise content creator. Thank you. Welcome to the Ujung Genteng Beach area, West Java.
Do more outdoor adventure...Try visit Bandung west of java digging the Cullinary, Mother Nature stay in Glamping under the mountain and edge of river...
Pocary Sweat doesn't care for the flavour. I've been visiting the factory before. All they care is the drinks replace most of the mineral you lost from sweat. One of my collague ask if they consider to make other flavour, they replied "If you sweat some strawberry juice, we will do research on your sweat and consider it" That's why all this year they don't produce other flavouring except for less sugar
btw, brightening and whitening have different purpose tho brightening bringing your skin back to its original healthy state (complexion tone and texture), 'whitening' products are more about making your face several shades lighter. but stereotypes in Indo makes them focusing on whitening cause for them white means beautiful
While being in Bali, I had the feeling that supermarkets like that are primarily made for tourists and not so much for locals. Just fyi, the prices there were kinda of the same as in the one you have been in. Can someone confirm if that's true or not? :)
If u stuck in a place like canggu/ seminyak then yes ull pretty much exposed to supermaket with imported stuff (pepito, bintang supermarket), but if go to kuta or other area, specifically big supermarket like: giant, grand lucky, lotte, karyasari, hypermart, then u'll get pretty much the same products with the same prices as on this video that's where the locals shopped mostly with more options
My advice, if you are in Indonesia, look for products with Indonesian brands / made in Indonesia, you should not look for products that you usually use in your country, because it is definitely more expensive. 😁
This was lotte Mart, and its for the local majority of the product are cheap because its made here in Indonesia, but you still can find Foreign Products but the price still reasonable for such establishment. But if you want super cheap goods than go to traditional market but i guarantee you wouldn't find Foreign Products in traditional Markets. I used to much "but"😅
If you have chance to visit transmarket previously did the acquisition of carefour , you will amazed with the variety of goods sell there , from apple notebook to literally apple fruit ….
cmon... May you visitGalatasaray Football game in Turkey please if u'll come? Or just for 1 game. Galatasaray has Record of Loudest stadium of the world. great athmosphere. If you see my comment please like it. Love from Turkey
if you want buy fruit cheaper, you should go to traditional market, you will get Rambutan & Naga Fruit cheaper is around Januari til Februari.. in Indonesia, sometimes you have to know the season or when the harvest is, then you get the cheaper price..
Kita bilang mahal, sedangkan mereka bilang murah.
Ayam kampung, is chicken that is raised naturally, without hormones and stuff. So it have less meat, the meat is less tender too, but yeah more healthy
In Indonesia, especially in Manado, you will see unusual thing that sale on Supermarket, such a Snakes, Bats, Cats, Dogs, Jungle rats and so many weird thing
Seems like the big and expansive type of mall (which usually caters to tourist and other migrant workers from outside).. The typical indonesian supermarket would usually be hypermart that spreads across indonesia. Along convenient stores "indomaret"
08:35 this is wrong. Both fresh and UHT milk have a similar nutrient profile and are produced to the highest safety and quality standards. UHT milk has a longer shelf life, but some people prefer the taste of fresh milk. Ultimately, the type of milk you choose is a matter of preference and convenience.
Hahahaha the garlic is so expensive but it's cheap for you guys lol! Nowadays few traditional market already better, also clean. Try to go to "Pasar Bata Putih" I think that's near from Ivana's house.
we did have pepsi before, but they close the factory few years ago because they cannot compete against coca cola. pizza hut, kfc where originally only served pepsi, in indonesia they serve coca cola. pocaru sweat is japanese brand but there are factory in indonesia, own by indonesian company, they bought the licence. pocari is not fruit flavour jast plain like sweat, hinds the name, and salty. the competitor is isoplus, and way cheaper, like half of pocari's price, it's my favorite.
Yeah thats true in indonesia white is pretty thats so why theres alot of product with whitening or brightening. And you know what we use jacket when we out in Daylight 😂
Actually, the easiest way to convert indonesian currency, is to think your "cents" as our "last 3 zeroes". So, 15000 would be like 15 rupiah. We treat it that way. Like 15500 we usually say it like 15 and half.
