The canned Ciorba de burta and varza are pretty close to a home made. They are actually cooking them in big pots and then put the portions in the cans. It's not really "factory" made. Scandia Sibiu and Edenia make the best ready-made meals so far.
@johndoe-ss8dr
@johndoe-ss8dr 11 месяцев назад
You're wrong about the canned food, no matter if it's Scandia or other food factories. It's full of preservatives (conservanti) all those E numbers that are bad for health. Actually it's factory food. When you are cooking home you know what ingredients you're using, and also no need to preserve the food for more than a few days. So eat properly and as healthy as you can!
@simpletraveltech
@simpletraveltech 11 месяцев назад
@@johndoe-ss8dr I believe your intention is good and commendable. However the process of placi g food in a can dates since the times ships were sailing under wind at sea and no Cann of food needs preservative chemicals as the canned environment is the presevant. Please take a moment to read about it on the internet. You must be referring to the taste activator that the food industry uses but even that has no place here as the canned fasole cu jumări contains the same fasole and the same jumări that you would make from the same products. I am sure you are very well equipped to understand what a myth is and how this kind of talk prevents people from enjoying simple stuff of life. Chicken liver is actually a very good Romanian dish, goes great with some mashed potatoes (with the obligatory milk&butter added) and sume pickels beside them. It's kind of a comfort food form me, as a guy born and raised over here. The canned ciorba and beans are surprisingly okay, like a worker's meal, it reminds me of the military ration you got when conscription was a fact in Romania (until 2002-2003): if you were on a leave, going from your unit to your home town, you got from the army, beside your free train ticket, some food, which consisted of canned beans with sausages or beef meat, branza topita (that's cream cheese), pork pate (which, by the way, is the poor cousin of foie gras :D), sardines can and the mandatory Rom chocolate. Those were the days, funny I barely escaped conscription, as I was a student :)

@@myway2843 that is just a flat out lie. Minimum wage is around 400euros after tax not average salary lol. Medium wage, countrywide average salary is 850Euros after tax (100% increase since 2015). However, there is a lot of disparity based on regions (not much unlike other western countries, like the US for example where income varies depending on state). Bucharest metro area has the highest salaries, followed by Cluj, Timisoara ,etc. However the problem comes in the more rural areas of the country where of course you can talk at averages of 500-600 euros and much more people working on minimum wage. Surviving on minimum wage is indeed hard, but you cannot lie and say that the current minimum wage is the average wage because it just is not. Mega Image works with small producers in Romania. They periodically visit the locations where the crops are grown to ensure they are not treated with various substances. These visits are unannounced and unexpected. I know this because they work with producers in villages that I am familiar with. 5:36 Napolact has good milk, but it is far from the best. At select locations, there are bring-your-own-bottle milk dispensing machines from local farms. Cows are milked between 4 and 5 AM daily, then the dispensers are refilled around 8 - 8:30 AM. This is the best milk, hands down. If you were to do a blind test between this milk and Napolact, you could distinguish the difference every time.

You can't compare cozonac with pannetone. Pannetone is dry with not much flavor compared with cozonac in which you can taste either the turkish delight, walnuts, fresh sweet cheese, poppy seeds or raisins in it. The difference in flavor is HUGE! Cozonac is so much better!

@@Monas99 Depends what kind of Panettone you had. One of my recipes has raisins and candied oranges. Another has white chocolate and pistaccios. Pretty sure there are ones with turkish delight as well. Dough wise, there are similarities between the two, but on the technical side, cozonac resembles the poppy seed rolls that you got all over europe. Well, I call them poppy seed rolls, but in Slovakia, they are also filled with nuts or cheese not just poppy, my great grandma didnt use to add raisins or turkish delight, as that is something better in fluffier dough, and she was making them very dry and with thin walls.

the best bread you can buy is obviously the bakery one. It has a nice crust, it boasts all natural ingredients and comes in a bazillion varieties. But it's also quite expensive, about 2-3 times the price of supermarket sliced bread. So for our daily needs, most of us buy the cheap one. I love blue cheese, but I love Romanian sheep cheese even more! It's like cheese and butter at the same, definitely gourmet. It's important where you get it from though, it has to be from actual farmers(I buy it from farmers from Sibiu who come and sell in Obor market in Bucuresti). I love it especially sprinkled over fries. The salty, spicy flavor of the cheese with the sweetness of the potatoes is an amazing combo, and the rich buttery aroma is just... my mouth is watering just thinking about it. @Smjork
@Smjork 10 месяцев назад
@@darktoranaga Slight variations ... :-)))) First of all Romania consists of some very specific geographical regions. Romanians living in these regions were heavily influenced by their closest-direct country-neighbors and to some extent, in some cases, they also influenced their country-neighbors cuisine. That's why you can eat genuine "magyar gulyas", "ukrainian fish broth", "bulgarian pickled cucumbers" and "turkish delight" in Romania. And yet, as an example of many, you just CAN'T compare the turkish "sarma" with the romanian "sarmale". The turkish dish contains lamb/beef minced meat rolled in grape leaves while the romanian dish contains pork/beef minced meat rolled in pickled cabbage leaves. They taste VERY differently. Even the full vegetarian variants of the two taste VERY differently.
