1). Graphically that is a 2 row harvester. Yes it tends to take 3 rows in game, because FS uses the rough equivalent of 28- 30 inch rows, not 36 inch rows.And that harvester has a 2 row, 36 inch row spacing head. 2) You most definitely do NOT need 70 HP per row, unless you want a 10 MPH working speed. 100 and change HP on a 2 row head works just fine, especially at 5-6 MPH working speed. If a second tractor is pulling the wagon, this goes down slightly, unless working in very hilly areas. Would it work more effortlessly with more power? .Of course, everything does. Have taken off MANY acres of corn silage and hay silage with both a MF 165 (52 rated PTO HP) and a MF 283 (73 ish rated PTO HP) using a single row New Holland harvester, with the wagon hooked to the harvester, and a second person running wagons. Which is the most efficient for a 2 man job. Neighbours using 2 row heads ran anything from 90 HP PTO to 120 HP tractors for this job, in southern Ontario Canada, moderately hilly. In 99% of cases, pulling the wagon behind the harvester. With higher capacity self-unloading wagons than Daggerwin used. Anywhere from 150-160 PTO HP to 200 plus for actual 3 row heads would be a thing. More so in the modern era, since farms are more likely to have a high horsepower tractor available. Addiitonally, there is anywhere from a 15 hp ( on smaller tractors) to 40 HP difference between ENGINE HP, and PTO HP. So a 210 HP tractor could easily be 170-180 PTO HP. Yielding 55-60 HP per row of corn head. Meaning Daggerwin''s 100 ish HP on a 2 row head is more than doable, if making the tractor snort a bit. Would you "want" 200 plus HP for a 3 row head? Yes. Would you "need" that much? No. It would matter a lot more if FS actually calculated volume of crop harvested per ROW, rather than per meter of working width. But it does not. If it did, then having it pick up that 3rd row would probably stall the tractor, or at least break a shear pin from sudden massive increase in volume. Or jam the feed rolls. Which can be an epic pain! Or worse yet, reduce cylinder rpm to the point that the discharge pipe plugs. A truly epic pain, since it's curved. So you can't just shove a long stick down it to unplug it. Reaching up from the bottom inspection plate, and/or down from the top, pulling out wet, cold handfuls of silage. Such joyous memories! If you wanted actual realism, have the drive chain for the feed rolls grenade itself once in a while. On a Saturday afternoon. An hour after the parts dealer closed With a week of rain coming on Monday. Yes, variations on all of the above have happened to me personally. As awesome as that level of realism would be, a game engine that could actually manage all that would have MUCH higher system requirements.
