The metal drill was not sharpened correctly. The cheap ones usually come like this from the factory.

For fasteners you need to be in the low torque setting number 1. Setting 2 is high speed for drilling.

Gear 1 for screws works best when you need max torque!!

Whats the difference between MAKITA HP001GZ vs HP001G or are they same

They are the same. HP001G is the model number of the hammer drill tool. HP001GZ is bare tool only when you buy it from the market, on my video HP001GD201 is the exact model for the tool, two 2.5ah batteries, charger for the batteries and makpac (case/tool box) Thank you.

Makita , do the low values, to middle, now .....high technology in drilling holes...low speed are good for drive screw 's....fast speed for drills... digital knots , are better .... believes it .this are very outstanding powertools ...coming soon ....cost are ok ....to me ... collecting item

As far as compact hammer drills go this is the by far the best one available for masonry. He's using a very large bit in this test which as expected is a little slower using a small combi drill. But even with its small size the smaller diameter bit paired with this model bores lightning fast.
