We spent the last few months frantically building out this Mitsubishi Fuso into an expedition truck so that we could live in it. The time finally came to move in, and we couldn't be happier. In our first month on the road, we wasted no time testing out our truck and putting in more miles than we would have expected.

Wonderful video guys.As full time van lifers in the UK, now starting our fourth year, the only way to learn this type of life, is to make a few mistakes. Enjoy the life guys.

Thanks! Making mistakes is how we learn- we just try not to make them twice!

I use a filter I put the hose on it the filter goes on and then the filter goes into the water intake. It works perfect. Takes a little bit longer to load up but you won’t get any of that funky stuff and pretty much shouldn’t drink that water anyways.

Ohh that's a good idea! What brand do you use? Might need to add that to our kit.

Very cool setup. I love that you figured out a way to haul two bikes and a dual sport motorcycle.

Regarding the water issue, if you had a system like the Berkey (there are many other brands available) you could have used that water by filtering it through the system.

That's a great point. We had considered a filter, but decided against it for space savings, but it would be excellent to have.

My 1st dirt bike was a 1988 XR250R, looked a lot like yours on the back of your cool rig. Dug your video- nice job.. cheers from New England

Ours is a 1993 xr250. It’s a ton of fun, and really speaks to how you don’t need a ton of power to have fun. And dead simple to work on! Thanks for the support!

Great Video! I agree that the East coast was harder to find free spots to stay vs West, but we found it pretty easy to locate ones through iOverlander. Although it might not be the prettiest, truck stops and rest areas apperception are go-to locations while visiting the East coast.

Yeah, ioverlander is such a great resource. Plenty of places to stop for a night, but spending a day working can be hard with the noise and commotion! Thanks for watching!

10:04 We spritz the entire faucet and handle with a bleach sudsy solution, scrub, rinse, repeat. . We use an in-line filter to reduce sediment. One of my hobbies is walking wrecking-yards aka 'dismantlers'. After the aluminum skin is recycled off a factory RecreateVehicle, the innerds are visible. Invariably, each translucent fresh water tank has inches of muck.

Super good advice, Thank you! Had no idea that we'd accumulate sediment.

Thanks for sharing your journey. I'm currently living in Dover NH. Welcome home yall. Ive been following tiny living for yrs. Just recently, watching box trucks. Where is a good place to start, for a model truck like yours? Look forward to hearing from you. Safe travels!!😎🤙🏽

Thanks for watching! Glad to see some fellow east coasters on here. Not a ton of options if you want 4x4- the Fuso is the only one ever sold in the states to our knowledge. You can also look to import something, but that can be hard. If you don’t care about 4x4, there are lots of options- used truck dealers could be a good place to at least sit in a few!

Thanks for your videos... Very well made. I'm in the process of building a box to put on the back of a Ram 5500. About 80% of the stuff is already bought. Just waiting on the Canadian winter to leave to start the box. I'm wondering about your A/C unit. It look like a residential unit. How is it performing for you guys ? I'm still hesitating on DC or AC power. We nearly never hook up to shore power.
@HD.Adventuring
@HD.Adventuring 3 месяца назад
Thanks so much! Sounds like an awesome build. So far(6 months now) the AC is working great! We rarely hook up to shore, but the AC will run for a bunch of hours on our 600AH of SOK batteries.

im curious to see your bikes on the back of the rig after the comments about how important it was to have them inside....also I see a different motorcylce in various shots. An upgrade? What is mounted on the cab of the truck?
@HD.Adventuring
@HD.Adventuring 3 месяца назад
Overlanding sometimes is confused with overloading😂 we carried 2 extra bicycles for a while- our gravel bikes. They were suction cupped to the rear. But we found ourselves not using them too much, so we recently left them in our storage unit. Now we just have the mountain bikes inside the truck. We had a 1979 Yamaha mx175 first, but then bought a sweet 1993 XR250. We wanted a bike that had passenger pegs to enable two-up riding. But we also ended up taking this off, to reduce our length. We simply found ourselves rarely using it! Seems as we’ve gone full time we just keep taking fewer things with us. We have our starlink mounted to the top of the cab. We have had 2 generations of star mounts. The one we now use is a flat mount and is great!

Awesome video series! We are going a very similar route with importing a expedition truck from EU. If possible, can you please share how you are insured (liability vs comprehensive) and did you go the commercial insurance route with an LLC? Who did you decide to go through? Thanks again!
@HD.Adventuring
@HD.Adventuring 3 месяца назад
Hey, Insurance can be a pain! We are comprehensively insured in US + Canada through progressive commercial.

Interesting - but Dana’s narration tone is kind of flat, as if reading from a script without looking up from the notes.
