In this video we will go over the new software system Toyota has rolled out in most, not all, of its vehicles for 2023 and on. We expect this to be the staple system in every car very soon.
We cover it using apple CarPlay, which android auto shares 90% similarity. We also go over a couple unique customizations you may like. Enjoy!

just bought a 2024 Rav 4. Last car I had was 25 years old. Don't have a clue what most of this stuff is. Wish you would do one on whats free and whats a subscription. Paying for cable is bad enough. I have an I phone but dont even get email on it. Your video was very helpful. Would take me years to figure this stuff out.

I'm doing just fine! I broke away from Toyota for 9 months and bought a 2022 Altima SR from my Toyota dealership in Kirksville Missouri. I just traded back to a 2017 Camry XLE V6 from a dealership in Burlington Iowa. I will continue using my Toyota dealership in Kirksville Missouri however. Thank you. There are not color options but when equipped with the dynamic rear view camera, you can change the grid line type, which inherently has different colors per type.

Thank you. Your heated steering wheel Button should exist on the dashboard left of steering wheel. It’s a small square button next to the trunk and gas door buttons. For apple car play, simply plug your phone into the usb Jack and wait for the prompt on your phone and car screen. Allow all connections and it should activate. Let me know if that helps! And most importantly big congrats on such a nice car. What color??

I know it comes with wired android auto and apple car play. do you know if they will come out with an update that will make it wireless in the future? Great video and it helped me a lot with my 2024 Rav4 Hybrid. I have a question and you probably can't help but no harm in asking. With regard to the RSA over the speed limit notification, I can change the notification from Visual & Audio to No Notification or Visual Only, OR I can just turn it off completely However, when I turn the car off and back on again it goes back to the default “ON” position or defaults to "Visual & Audio". I have tried so many times but regardless of whether I select No notification or Visual Only, when I turn car off and back on again it forgets and defaults to visual and Audio. Similar thing happens when I try to change the notification on the LTA. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

Very useful information and we appreciate it. How do I keep my Android auto running but not wanting to run Sirius XM through my phone? I already pay for satellite Sirius XM therefore don't want to pay for data, especially when there are so many dead cell spots that are drive through. Do I have to remove the app from my phone which I use when I'm out gardening or even showering??

If you change the display to not be automatic its still goes in to night mode when in a tunnel or when it gets dark. Can you test it and see if it works for you?

Good video - mine was working fine for the first few months (2023 Venza) but somehow I turned off the microphone on CarPlay (or Toyota Connect, not sure which) so when I ask Siri to do something, I can barely hear her voice as the volume is very low (not totally muted). I have ran into an issue recently and can’t find a fix for it. I have a 2024 Rav 4 while my iPhone is connected to the car and I get an incoming text message it won’t read message but does lower my music as if it were saying the text message aloud. If you go to your phones settings, then Bluetooth, then tap the vehicle name or “i” and make sure that “messages” is enabled.

@@brianruperti actually I read it's a 1 year trial and then it's subscription based. Remote connect services must be bundled with one of the services that's about $15 or $25/mo. Is that right? That's very disappointing if that's true. They NEED to catch up with everyone else in this department. I really hope it's standard.

Brian, great tutorial, my question is on our 2024 Grand Highlander we added my wife’s iPhone app using the QR code, I would like to connect my phone as well but don’t know how to bring up the QR again.

All you have to do is go to Bluetooth>new user> follow Bluetooth prompts to connect the new phone

Not sure. You may want to go into phone settings and make sure CarPlay is allowed to search for compatible apps. You may have declined that previously without knowing.

We bought a 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid this summer after having a Subaru for 18 years. The learning curve is steep. We still haven’t figured everything out. Keep reading the manuals and watch a few videos. The dealer’s service department is a bit helpful too.

When you are looking at the "Date and Time", you mention "you can even change the format.". That's to change the format for the date, not the time. I have tried entering a date in the system and I can't. There is no obvious way to enter the day. It looks like you can tap on the date and enter a value but it just takes you to the different formats. Do you know how to enter a date?

For default radio what exactly do you mean? And setting up second phone is the same process you did when you got the car to set up Bluetooth.

Is there ANY WAY to have this installed in older models (2019 Avalon for example) or activate it retroacively? The 2019 system is abysmal to use & only supports Apple Car Play. Sooo its either buy an iPhone & use the primitive settings in entune 2.0 orrrrr see if I can get this to function better as a tablet or projection device. Halp

At this time I don’t see any aftermarket options for swapping the system.
