I am on Sam's side as far as his theology! But he has an anger issue! It's his thorn in his flesh! All u have to believe is that the father is God, the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God. These 3 are one, 1 John 5:7. How they are one is what people debate on. But that’s the basics. Also if someone misunderstands the Bible, that doesn’t make them a heretic or mean they are going to hell. They can be wrong about something and still go to heaven if they understand the basics about Christ. How is that showing your neighbor love by talking down to them? Its a trick question. Sam takes 2 verses out of a narrative, then asks a question that based ONLY on those 2 verses must be answered in a way that validates his interpretation. But if taken within the totality of the narrative its very important to not overlook verse 27 NKJV "They ( the pharisees v.13) did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father". Jesus and the Father are One. This narrative ( as many others) plainly shows they WERE NOT gonna accept ANYTHING He said. They ONLY wanted to in their flesh show that He lied because if He lied then He cant b the Messiah according to their law, so Jesus just showed that since they didnt believe the He and God were one then He used their point against them. Two witnesses 1)God 2)Jesus. This shows that He fulfilled the ENTIRE law because He IS THE MESSIAH. This whole narrative is about Jesus telling the truth about Himself, and that even with that in their faces they wont accept His words because they dont know Him or the Father v.19, didnt know where He came from or where He was going v.14. This shows how some will hold on to their hate even with truth right in front of them. This is an interpretation that has NO PROBLEMS with the first chapter of John. God bless

Brother for your information, προς τον θεόν is translated for God not with God. The word προς, indicates direction for example, προς τα πού πηγαίνετε, is translated where are you going to. If you ask me how I know, I was born in Athens and I'm still living there... :D there are so many Bible translations that miss out on these very important notes. And the trinitarian dogma if you ask me fails the first commandment. Because the Hebrew word echad means numerical one. Not onenes. Like when the husband becomes one with his wife.
