The way Russia produces weapons and make them more reliable is by step by step upgrades. This way the software and other components are not sophisticated at the beginning and it’s easier to identify bugs and deficiencies. If one tries all fully newer systems, points of failure increases dramatically. Very practical people producing very reliable and rugged war machines

Russians have their fair share of rushed aircraft. If we look into history, MiG-19, MiG-23, Su-25, Su-24, were all pretty "green", if want for a better word. Su-24 had its airframe adjusted as it was in production for aerodynamics, while its top speed wasn't properly assessed before being sent into units limited to measly Mach-1.3. MiG-19 was horribly unreliable while MiG-23 had its metallurgy and wing console manufacturing method wholly re-done between MiG-23S and MiG-23M. Su-25 had severe issues with gun recoil opening access hatches, shaking avionics loose in their compartment (much like MiG-27) and avionics themselves were constantly shorting due to ingress of dew. Vast majority of the issues were indeed resolved over time, but back during Cold War, rushing the design was done on both sides as one tried to one-up the other.

Yes, it is amusing those bragging about 800 plus F-35s being already built, but it still isn't 100% reliable and fully operational. It is not even 20% fully reliable and operational. They will end up in the same position as Europe with the Typhoon where they are now scrapping their first Typhoons from service because the cost of upgrading their old Typhoons to the current upgrade level is higher than just making new aircraft. How many of the current fleet of F-35s will just get junked when they have fixed all the problems and the amount of changes means it is also cheaper just to make them new. Of course the real problem is that they seem to prefer shifting the bar rather than even admitting there are problems so it may never get fixed anyway.

That is surprising that Russia finally made a realistic rear targeting and missile system as the 1982 movie called Firefox that starred Clint Eastwood to penetrate behind enemy lines of the Soviet Union to steal its most valuable and secretive jet fighter having special weapons system, speed, and can outmaneuver all US/NATO fighter planes. It was a decent movie to watch as the rear firing system is at the rear of the plane and had to think or speak Russian to fire it... so again an early ideal of Ai even was being played around in both fiction and reality weapons systems.

I said this over 8 months ago... 5 gen with 6th Gen engines so is it a 5th Gen Fighter or in order to qualify like the F-22.....66% of your inventory is un-flyable due to software and maintenance issues. We bought the F-35 for our carriers, what a sod-din mistake that was.
@garryb374
@garryb374 28 дней назад
The problem with the F-35 is that they made 3 different models and tried to replace the Harrier as well as light fighters like the F-16 and F-18 and other similar types. A 5th gen fighter is already a compromised design because of its internal weapons and large internal fuel fraction, but having internal space for a huge lift fan in the front ruined the shape of the F-35 so they have ended up with a stealthy Buccaneer instead of a stealthy F-16 which is what they wanted. The Buc is an excellent aircraft but it is not light fighter... more a light strike carrier plane.

@Max_Da_G

To be fair to British MOD, apart from F-35, there is nothing really available to it in the short to medium term, both politically and technologically. F-35B and F-35C are the only gen-5 aircraft in the world that are currently available for purchase that are carrier-capable. Something needs to replace the retired Harrier, and only F-35 can do this in timely fashion. God knows when, or whether at all, Tempest will be completed and carrier-capable model is available. Showing a model as an "up yours" to Trump is one thing, making one is wholly another. UK realistically only has one supplier now, and that's US. The mistake, in and of itself, wasn't the purchase of F-35. The mistake was rushing into inducting it before the teething problems were sorted out.

@@hawkstamos1766 I don't have to check anything or learn anything. I can immediately explain to any Russian chauvinist what the difference is - if he is able to understand it. Since you brought up F-16, I will use its example. The point is the fundamental difference: from the moment of its creation, first flight and placing an order by the US armed forces, LARGE-SERIES PRODUCTION IMMEDIATELY started, and the planes were immediately incorporated into regular air units. Production is so big that most air forces of the world flies the F-16, including the USA, of course. Maybe you haven't noticed it: the F-16 is such a successful design that it is constantly produced and used to this day and there is no indication that it will be withdrawn from service. It is absolutely obvious to everyone (although I see that it is not so obvious to Russian, you got only one: agression and war) that both the military doctrine and the goals set for these machines have been changing for forty years. To meet the needs, the manufacturer UPGRADES subsequent series to these requirements. At the same time, older aircraft are upgreded to a similar level, equalizing the combat potential of older and new machines. Hence the designations from Block 1 to Block 75, and it is already known that work on further DEVELOPMENTS of this aircraft is nearing completion. I would like to point out that nearly 6,000 of these aircraft have been produced till today, most of them in the latest versions, including upgraded. So you have A LOT to be afraid of, with your few (LESS THAN FINGERS ON YOUR HANDS!) PROTOTYPES. THIS IS THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE. And the most comical thing, if it weren't so pathetic, is that the Su-57 has been put into production for so long that it has already become obsolete and ALREADY NEEDS AN UPGRADE!!!! The matter is trivial: Putler has NO MONEY for such expensive toys... The world's second army? More like a second army just in Ukraine. You will soon find out thanks to, among others, the F-16!!! Finally, for dessert: the cherry on the cake. The Su-57 was equipped with extremely "modern" Saturn AL-41F engines. So modern that it is impossible to build thermal shields for them. As a result, this plane, or more precisely the ENGINES, - like the entire Sukhoi family - shines with a powerful portion of infrared at a distance of tens of kilometers!!! This is such a disadvantage that the Americans have long ago developed air-to-air missiles that gives these machines NO CHANCE. Especially to fight Su-series plans. And no decoys or thermal traps will help: these missiles identify your planes based on the heat signature of the engines and they reject decoys. No radar, no laser pointig is needed! This is the "invisible" Su-57, this is the best Russian technology without analogs* in the world!!!! So... good luck! * Of course, the Su-57 has no analogues in the world. No one who thinks normally NEEDS an airplane that signals to everyone with its infrared emissions: "hey, I'm here - hit me with everything you've got"!!! I'm right? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

SU-57 has RCS of an F-15, that's not stealth The best you can do is pickup a dot of an F-35 at 17 miles out, you're dead by then. F-22 is barely readable on the best Russian radars (it looks like a bird), same result you're dead. Please show us all the great and world-beating achievements of Rzhech Pospolita :) Where are the all-Polish nuclear powerplants? Aircraft? Cars? Electronics? Ships? Russians are building all that in real life, and it can be read about, seen, touched, used. Sort Poland out before laughing at Russia. You Poles are a proud lot, truly it must be embarrassing to need a big overseas "brother" to help defend you. Except there is a good chance that this "brother" will do the same dirty to Poland as Britain and France did in 1939. You know the history. No need to trust and love Russians. Just don't piss them off. Relying on others for your security is a bad idea though.

Westeners like to brag about their 1000 f-35 but note that US has the military budget 8-9 times that of russia itself, so with less many that russia can spend on its air force it is impressive that they can achive this step considering the 2 other countries china and us that have massive scale stealth fighter production happened to also have a gigantic economy

The United States has degraded so much that, in order to preserve the combat capability of the Air Force, production of the F-15 has been deployed again and production of the F-16 continues. And the best, according to idiots, the F-35 constantly blows up assholes in the US Congress because of a bunch of problems in software and avionics, which works every other time)))
