My daughter and I are on a magical journey with the orb and an ounce of shrooms in our belllies if I could bow down on my side to see you again and you can just keep your eyes out of heaven and your neck to the woods in heaven and your face and your soul and your face and you look beautiful
Actually we have been together 30 yrs but married 27. an amazing time in my life. taking boom boxes 🏕 camping double dipped oms. thouse were the days. Saffron xx
This reminds me of multiple nights playing Nintendo with my housemate, smoking weed, waiting for the weekend; with great tunes like the Orb and Speedy J Ginger playing on the stereo. It doesn't surprise me that I dropped out of mainstream society for a few years back then and am the better for it now. Thanks for uploading dude
I think if you hear this song at the right age, under the right drugs and under the right stars; it will change you and everyone else's history's forever. A song that will last millennia.
I'd like to believe people in 2991 will have listening parties to celebrate the anniversary. The only part they won't understand is where the "loving you" vocals are from.
The shear beauty of this track is so sublime that even after 30 years of listening you can still find new sounds which you never heard before Big love to anyone who chooses to listen to this amazing album
Yes. FSOL are equally as incredible as Orb. Also Banco de Gaia's Last Train to Lhasa album is of the highest quality, though he's a bit hit and miss in general (he produces handbag house as well as ambient).
@@ongbonga9025 I hadn't heard the banco de gaia album as I kinda snobbed him. I just did. Thank you for that gift. It was awesome! May I also suggest ( you have probably heard them already) KLF - chill out and biosphere - substrata. 2 of the most iconic ambient albums ever created. I would happily drop a couple and take the trip to the Galaxy and beyond. :-)
I love this one! No other song out there could I keep my ears tuned in to for 20 minutes. It's raining right now and with THIS song playing, I feel perfectly peaceful, happy, content. "Oh my gosh, the music just...."

This is the peel session version (1991), based on the track lenght. I like this better than the album's version.
+Nahuel Patiño So do I, but the thing is that this version wouldn't match the mood or style of the album, plus, if they'd used this version, Jimmy Cauty would have sued their asses.
That's what the difference is! I was listening to the album version for the first time in ~10 years and was like 'this is close but not quiiiite it...' But this version tickles my nostalgia perfectly :) Glad to know I'm not crazy!
Listening/trancing out to this in the middle of a forest trailer park in birch bay, Washington state. Sunset. Aurally educating the neighborhood. I grew up in England. Memories of hearing Little Fluffy Clouds one night, listening quietly in my young teenage room. After I'd been told to 'turn that crap off and go to sleep now'. The Orb was NOT turned off. Listened to the end. Then Peel said nothing but segued immediately into a 45 second Napalm Death track. Mum knew, at that point, to never disturb her creation again. "He is who he is now".. I miss John very much.
Had the same thing whilst driving up from key west to daytona with sunscream on the radio and a hugh electrical storm raging out to sea about 92. A peak experience, Divine Moments of Truth. Peace and love to you fellow traveller, peace and love :)
I love this version. Damn, i feel beamed back to the early nineties, when we used to trip alot. I`m older now and i don`t need anything in order to trip but JUST THIS tune.
I remember recording this off one of the Peel sessions circa 1991, had some serious trips to this with my mates back then, a lot of waters gone under the bridge since........
Martin Brown , yes the world has changed a lot since then . Maybe its because we are older , maybe its because we just don't get the youth of today . Or maybe those were better times , all I know is listening to this really chills me out . So all good and drugs involved either .
i remember buying this disc back in the early 90's.. my first ambient/ ambient-house disc ever... many hours drifting through the cosmos listening to this!
WHAT WERE THE MICRO DOT'S LIKE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG ? THEY WERE RED, GREEN, OR PURPLE ! THEY WENT ON FOREVER, THERE WERE LITTLE FLUFFY CLOUD'S, THAT WAS GOOD LSD, YOU DON'T SEE THAT ANYMORE
I remember finding the original pressing of the 12 inch in Spillers in Cardiff long after this had been released, and by that time, I was a big fan of the Orb. I just could not believe that it had not been snatched up. I still think the magic mushroom fairies had kept it hidden away until I arrived that day.
The first time I ever took mdma was to this album and it literally changed my life lol, that was almost 20 years ago and I still remember that night. Brings me back just hearing this.
I grew up with the orb being one of the soundtracks to my youth along with many others, all accompanied by various substances which made me the person I am with faults and perfections but human.
it bespeaks of the elusive delicate nature of the juxtaposition of elves and artificial intelligence in a spinning kaleidoscopic endocrinologists flowerbed on a carousel in andromeda.
I used to have this on vinyl back in the day along with loads of other ord white labels and prerelease s, wish I hadn't sold them to go travelling but at least I can still listen to the music
wow what a time smoking dope talking all night listing to this on a come down and life was so easy then i grew up become a fart but tonight going to roll a big fat joint of skunk and play it hard thank you ALEX who i saw play this live and went tpo a good part outside your home on a hot summer night we played with a lazer and mirrors till the sun came up xxx ah memories and music thank you all again
I used the visit the Ultraworld quite often in the early to mid 90's, a lot of the time post club & we always insisted on The Orb as our soundtrack. The Orb should be made compulsory world wide & all lesser music should be banned (except The Future Sound Of London & Orbital & oh yeah Aphex Twin & Photek but everything else banned.)
Ban drill that spreads evil and good needs to outshine bad back into the shadows for eternity. Add Banco De Gaia, KLF Chill Out and tunes played at Whirl-y -gig from the early 90’s.
WHY ON EARTH has the ORB removed the blue room decadence from youtube???? We need it here Alex. I gave you a painting in a club in in New York City circa 1995 called carbon and you promised you would always be there to celebrate that the music transcends everything - ubiquitous. ORB is a vital part of life for orbgonions all over the world. Let the Music be free im on tv its just great im on tv......
driving down US1 in south miami with lita and petey in my 1972 chevy pick circa 1990 no one was talking we were completely sober and by the end of the song we were all in a daze :)
I first heard this track in January 1990 when it was played by John Peel on Radio One at night. This is the best version. I heard it again on Radio 1 by John Peel again in 1992. I believe it was first played in December 1989. I don’t know how many times John Peel played it.
aha , there is transcendental , then there is transcendental at its most profound , then there's sublime , then there's sublime in its most profound , then there is a return back to the current realm ! As mad as music can get !
I'm not even a fan of the Beatles and I must admit, they were one of the most influential music groups ever. Don't be such a hipster hating on what other people like.
+Coastwalker I have a big lead pig of Neutonium. Collected it. Need only 25% more and can take another person. We can go forwards, backwards, up and down.....ask Minnie Ripperton, she knows
No you're not, you're stuck here with the rest of us, unless you wrote that in the middle of an ayahuasca/ dmt session either you need to take your meds or go directly into A and E!!! Endeley, rapido!! Nice to meet you ,...I'm the pope fondlekidzdaily V111, and you, young scamp? 💩 I thought it would be cute to send you a poopselphy!!
Peel sadly missed, one of the best..no the best DJ’s Radio One had. I’m 50 and as a teenager with a radio tuner on my toshiba 3 band graphic equaliser personal stereo with headband and orange foam speaker covers listened most nights to John Peel as I drifted off to sleep or I’d play UK Electro on cassette to fall asleep to.

I love this. It reminds me when back in the 90's, I was studying architecture and they played it on the radio around 1 or 2 am, and I was making the "charrette" (project delivering). It ment that I had only 6 hours left to finish the model and drawing plans. Ufff...
Strangely I can see what you mean , after obviously a drug fuelled frenzy with a bunch of hot nymphets . Finish and chill to these sounds ……...ill take that and pass to the other side with a huge smile on my face .
First heard this in 2001 on the Global Underground Uruguay mix album by Darren Emerson. It's the disc 1 opener, albeit it in faster house mix form. Managed to persuade the apartment complex owners to play it over the sound system at night whilst looking at the stars in Tavronitis (Crete). Will always remember that night.

The first ever orb CD/12" i managed to get hold of after hearing the peel sessions version, 2 mins of minnie ripperton, and i was thinking - u what? then it kicked in and i was hooked ever more! Seems so long ago - but then it was over 20 years ago - !!
Hello! Does anyone know where the choir vocals that can first be heard from 0:57 - 1:10 come from? My initial research says leads me to Grace Jones' "Slave to the Rhythm", but I think this is maybe more chord progression than actual sample since I can't find anything resembling the sample in that song of hers. I love the feeling of this choir sound and sort of instrumental harmony that accompanies it!
Hello Orb-ists...I have a question: what is the track where there is a female voice in Russian, and she is talking in a slow manner with the solid ''pip'' at the end like they do in the space mission communications to announce at the end of their sentence??? All my old tapes have gone!!
I found out (in GTA IV, sure, but I'm so happy I found The Orb) this track just a while ago, and the versions I like the most are this one and the Live Mk10 mix.
What's the sample at 7.32? First time I heard this was at a beach party in Devon,on Acid watching the sunset, the second time was at Glastonbury 93 a week later, their new stuff ain't a patch on this.
The Orb's "Ultraworld" album and the KLF's "Chill Out" album are both something that you need to know about late 80s/early 90s ambient music .. forever!
