Full build of Tamiya 1/32 F-16 as Hellenic Air Force (HAF) anniversary plane ‘Jason’. Step by step video build with more detail can be seen in the link below: • HAF F-16C Jason
Much respect to the builder. Very talented. I am an airline pilot and fly into airports that are also used by the military. So, I get to taxi by some very nice fighter jets like the F-16. They simply aren’t as dirty as scale modelers make their models. I know weathering is a point of pride, but I’ve never seen an F-16 this dirty.
CloudStreets, I agree. I worked maintenance on F-16's for over 20 years in the Air Guard, and I NEVER saw our jets looking like this. Dirt on a modern high performance jet fighter? What do they think, these fly off dirt runways?? The panels on these fit so tightly together that they must be closed in a specific order after maintenance, or they won't close at all. Even a 1/32 inch gap on a 1/32 scale model would be a 1 inch gap on the real aircraft. I don't know where this drive to over-weather everything came from, but it is definitely not realistic.
You are great Iv never built kits like this all I did was brush paint but decals on And iv missed so many points and you show each part like primer panel lines I’m guessing x-22 gloss and then all the steps for a decal Iv never done Thanks this is gonna upgrade my skill How do you work out 40% paint to 60% thinners
This modeler is very talented, much better than me. But I'm still most impressed by the manufacturer, Tamiya. You could show me a bare part of the same type and scale of a particular model car or plane made by four different makers and I could easily tell which is Tamiya. It has finer detail, crisper edges, less flash and better fitment than Trumpeter, Hasegawa and light years better than Revell. Thanks for the tips in this build. Very helpful.
Beautiful Falcon!! You are a brave man airbrushing without the lid on your color cup! I always spill if I forget it! Speaking of which, I also use a H&S infinity, do you find the lids don’t fit very well, and like to fall off?
Excellent. Just, if I can suggest something... When you working on smaller parts :cockpit, landing gear etc. Can you zoom a bit more on them so we can see less of your hands and more on parts you working on it. Best regards and keep video's coming.
Another primo build! I have an unusual question: what is the name of the font you used at :11 for "Tamiya F-16 Jason" title? I enjoy cool fonts and would like to add that one to my collection. Thanks.
