The Senator representing Anambra Central and Chairman Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, Senator Dr Victor Umeh OFR, today felicitated with the Traditional Ruler of Ogidi, His Royal Majesty (Pharm) Alex Uzo Onyido, Ezechuamagha I of Ogidi at his 2023 Ofala Celebration.
Senator Umeh who made a grand entry at the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church Field, Ogidi venue of the Event amidst cheers by the delighted crowd of Ogidi townsmen and guests also enjoyed the company of the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha and Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke and the Representative of Idemili North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon Kingsley Udemezue
In his tribute to the very respected Monarch, Distinguished Senator Victor Umeh thanked Igwe Ezechuamagha for his selfless services to the people; praying God to continue to shower His blessings of healthy body and soul upon the Monarch. He prayed God to nourish him with more wisdom and strength as well as other spiritual and material enablement to continue to steer the affairs of the Ogidi Community towards the right direction.
Senator Umeh commended ndị Ogidi for their supports during the last general election and assured them of his continued commitment towards sustaining a people-oriented and robustful representation.
Unusual displays of the famous Ajọ ofia Nnewi, Ijele masquerades and other notable cultural displays gave the Event a colorful atmosphere showcasing the Town's ancient cultural heritage.
