FULLERTON: On 01-23-22 at approximately 8:25pm, CHP and Fullerton FD responded to a reported traffic accident with a vehicle overturned on the WB 91 just west of Brookhurst Rd. Units arrived to find an SUV that had rolled over and came to rest on its side. The driver of the SUV was partially ejected and trapped. Firefighters worked quickly to extricate the victim and begin treatment. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. During the investigation, CHP learned that a second vehicle was involved which had fled prior to their arrival. During the investigation at the scene. Fullerton PD notified CHO that they had a possible suspect vehicle with a person of interest at the AutoZone off Brookhurst and Orangethorpe. CHP officers responded and found the vehicle and driver who matched the description from witnesses. The suspect was intoxicated and was taken into custody.
